AI can only improve dating apps. At least there’s a chance an AI bot might respond with more than single word answers because it’s trying to have a conversation rather than mining lonely men for attention.

This is kinda dumb and overestimates the end goal of these spambots. They’re trying to get quick money & info, not trying to lure men to random date locations just to be stood up…

Also, bumble and other apps allow video messaging (can’t upload a file, can only film within the app) where you can verify the person before meeting so the next step would be more verification, not the collapse of a hugely profitable industry like OLD.

Its quite easy to build AI detection tools with the current generation of AI, they could build this into the dating app to give you a rating of how probable it is the user is an AI.

There are already apps that require facial verification with some form of ID in order for you to make an account. More apps will follow. Lot of things wrong with online dating but AI proliferation isn't one of them.
