They're probably just trying to score brownie points with certain groups. The idea of an all women board doesn't bother me though provided its on merit and isn't some political points scoring exercise. If it's the latter it's more harmful to women than good, especially if the organization fails.

I do wonder if any men working for that company could successfully sue for discrimination. There is no affirmative action bullshit in the UK, picking who gets what job based on gender is illegal whether they're male or female. If they promoted people within that company, and they all happened to be women, and they then boasted about it publicly, that's a strong case for a lawsuit.

anyone who knows about NPOs and the like knows that and c-suite board development is solely an outreach team to bring 1) credibility and 2) funding support to the organization.

so even if the board is made up of women, most likely those women are super connected and bring women-focused donors to their side.

I don't care who it is as long as its the most competent people for the job. Sometimes that means it's all men and other times it's all women.

I don't see the need to brag about it though. That's like bragging that you have a team of all redheads or all blue eyes. Seem irrelevant to me

Because its sexist only if its men in power, not women. This particular board is diverse.

Lets sit back and watch how fast it fails, or needs outside grants for support.

There are plenty of all male executive teams. Political administrations are sometimes still all male. Men being overwhelmingly represented in powerful positions is still a fact of life. So this just highlights the changing tides and the way women are coming up. It's about positive female empowerment, not the absence of men.

I'd be pissed if I was in the UK since it is a public funded organisation. But then, I was so pissed at all the fucking bullshit my tax money went to in Denmark that I left there.

Because yeah, if the organisation is for women's shelters or is a a domestic violence or rape crisis hotline aimed at women (there are ones aimed at men!), then that will be a positive, for sure.
