Around 2018, it was considered the height of the hookup era, when "normal girls" could easily just bang a guy they considered attractive. Nowadays it seems like there's less in-between and less ambiguity, less women just being 'down' to go with their emotions and be courted that way.

More conscious intention seems at the forefront of women now- if a woman intends on a hookup then that's her clear demeanor, if a woman intends on a relationship then she expects absolute relationship intention from the guy at stage 1.

How true is this? If true, do women really want this, or are there many women who would still prefer to 'just be led' and have chemistry (whether sexual and/or emotional) "just happen" without this kind of planning on their part?
