Status is subjective. In terms of women, what they see as status depends on their social circle. What a woman sees as high status could be anything from the college fratboy, to the street level drug dealer, police officer, rich stockbroker, or church preacher.

If a women is to respect you, you have to be higher or equal to her in what she values the most. The reason why in TRP they scream status, status, STATUS! is because the majority of women value status highly, making it an effective way to improve your attractiveness. A women won't love you if she doesn't respect you.

These things tend to be highly correlated, so this choice is rare. So it is not common.

It depends on the kind of status within the community. Women particularly like the kinds of status that they can show off to their friends.

If your position in the community is easy to explain (city councilman, pastor, head of X volunteer organization), then that is a leg up in the SMP. If your status is merely having a lot of friends ("everyone" knows me), then no that is not likely to be seen as impressive.

Status matters, it always will, as for the second question, to be quite honest I am not sure, seeing as how money and status usually correlate to one another but not always. That's an interesting scenario.

Having high status in the community means the community will help her raising her offspring and supporting her, if she is associated with you. The wallet is just another way women learned they can reach those goals, but the hard wired one is status in the community.
Appearance hints another collection of traits that are desirable, often present in socially apt men, but aren't a cause or a consequence to it: Good genes for her offspring.
Rule of thumb most women perceive and receive some attention from obviously good looking men somewhat often, but rarely have access to obviously high status men. It means for most women status ends up being a lot more rare and therefore more desirable. Exceptions are women surrounded by high status and bad looking men, I can only think of wives, daughters and business tycoons themselves.

I don't think there's an answer for you man. I live in a 7M people city, the only way to have status that goes beyond your business field here is through money, and even so you can only make yourself a name between some neighborhoods and some people. If you go some miles further, you're unknown. On the other hand in small cities it might make all the sense in the world to forgo money for high status positions.

But super important, but it helps. I was like you, bigger fish in a small pond. Then i moved to a larger and richer area. I'm surrounded by luxury car and i still do just as well with women.

It's only important when a woman is evaluating whether she wants to enter into a financial relationship with you such as prostitution or marriage. It's not important when determining whether she gets wet for you.

I've seen the sentiment pop up on PPD recently that status only matters for a man's RMV. I strongly disagree.

If you work in McDonald's for example you have low status pretty much universally and when you meet someone new, girls included, one of the first questions you get asked is what you do for a living. Unless you create an elaborate lie that's convincing enough it won't be picked up on when questions are asked, you're gonna have to tell the truth, and girls get turned off by guys in shitty jobs.

The exception to this is university where everyone is equally broke anyway. But outside of that bubble, in the real world, you are judged by your job which is linked to your social status.

Now if you have status within your social circle and that circle is made up of people from the same SES as you then you can gain status in a different way and mitigate this so it's not some death sentence don't get me wrong, but it is an extra challenge.

Whereas instead if you, I dunno, worked as a commodities broker or you were a rich bitcoin investor pulling up in a гелик you'd gain attraction with a much wider circle of women straight away.
