Generally speaking, the term "Alpha Widow" is a woman who has had intense experiences with Alpha Males in her past. As a result, she refuses to compromise for a "lesser" male, or does so grudgingly, and she gets more and more flexible the older she gets for marriage. This in turn destabilizes the relationship and makes it prone for breakup/divorce.

There are some studies that imply that a woman’s capacity to bond monogamously is inversely proportionate to the number of sexual partners she’s experienced prior to monogamy. I am going to reference a particular study here from Freenortherner.com that shows the odds of divorce sharply rising as women sleep with more men.

Is the Alpha Widow real? Even as a confident male, I do have reservations in dating women that have had longterm, even short term relationships with beefcakes. If I see a jacked, ripped Alpha on her Facebook feed, well, it gets me nervous no matter how hard I fight it. Is this an instinctual cue?
