There’s constant complaint from feminists and feminist-adjacent groups that women who sleep with multiple men get labeled sluts while men who sleep with multiple women get called successful studs. They frame this as a double standard when it's really not one.

A double standard requires applying the same standard differently. Sleeping with men VS sleeping with women are different acts, so they are different standards.

In practice, men face the harsher double standards. A man who sleeps with other men is more openly ostracized by society at large, not just by women. Just last week we saw how women react to men who are bi or who have any past same-sex experience. A woman who sleeps with men, by contrast, has more chances at finding someone from the opposite gender to marry her. Likewise, women punish a man far more severely for sleeping with multiple women than men penalize a woman for sleeping with other women. Most men don’t even care if the woman they’re talking to used to be a serial lesbian.

That’s why it’s completely NOT a double standard for a man with a high female body count to expect a woman with a low male body count, as long as he himself has a low (or zero if he's straight) male body count. The factor a lot of people refuse to acknowledge in these discussions is the gender of the sexual partners, not just the count.
