What does "average N-count" mean?

For example if you have 100 men and 100 women and 1 guy sleeps with all 100 women and the other 99 men are sexless then:

0% of women are virgins
99% of men are incel virgins
Average N of both men and women is N = 1

Seems like "average N" is meaningless.

Women do not go to prositutes. A prostitute can easily sleep with thousands of men during her lifetime. Not really what I would call a haram. My "count" was over 100 before I could legally have sex, imagine what an adult prositutes is.

Besides prostitutes an addicted/mentally ill woman can rack up thousands after 30 years hanging out at the bar in a variety of fashions.

Both those "types" of women do rack up crazy numbers.

So it's women in the US who have harems, not so much as men. Single woman have, "just a friend" guys they trade in and out, one at the time. "I'm not promiscuous, it (sex) just happens from time to time."

I see your point, and yes the averages should be close to equal. If they aren't, it means that men and women report differently (selection bias, men overreporting, women underreporting, not counting the same things as a notch).

Is there anything more you try to get from this post ? By your comments I don't understand what you expect to get.

There's no statistical problem. The idea is that most of the women rack up a high n-count by sleeping with a large portion of the Chads. AS a result, the Chads themselves have n-counts through the roof while average-ish men are either virgins or maybe get 'lucky' by getting Chad's scraps once in a while. We could go back and forth all day about what the specific numbers are, but it's the 80/20 rule at play. 20 percent of men are getting 80 percent of the casual sex. And then the rule applies recursively within itself: The top 20 percent of the top 20 percent of men (so, 4%) are getting 80 percent of 80 percent of the casual sex (64%). And so on and so forth.

Basically for the purposes of reporting N Count, a male and a female have to sleep together so both gender would receive a notch. That means that the averages for both gender should be the same.

That does not imply that sex with new partners is distributed evenly at all across the male half of the population, which is what the conversation is intended to focus on, isn't it?

Like, let's say there's a population where every woman has an n-count of 20. If you were to actually look at which specific guys appear in a given woman's list of past partners, you would notice an overwhelming amount of overlap/repetition from one list to the next. All those women are, give or take, sleeping with the same 20 guys.

Lets just be logical knowing what we know.

Men are more into casual sex than women.

Women into casual sex have an easier time getting it than men accordingly, due to supply and demand as well as male nature.

So if you have a woman really into casual sex, (provided shes attractive), her chances of getting it are much higher.

Basically slutty women can have much higher n counts than slutty men on average.

This is the subset of people who just want to fuck and have fun, not form LTRs.

This is a minority as it is, so we are looking at a segment of the population, not the population.

I think the "issue" is that even for a woman with a low N count, if she decides to have casual sex, that sex is not evenly distributed.

So let's say that a woman has an N-count of 5, from which 3 are long-term partners and 2 hookups/one-night-stands. The LTRs may with more diverse people, but there is a high chance that those 2 hookups are with men who consistently get hookups anyway, not with lonely/sex-deprived people.

So, for all intents and purposes, this woman is a low N-count woman, but she "contributed" to the unequal distribution of casual sex.

In short: LTR sex is more evenly distributed than casual sex.

Men pay for sex. Men travel for sex. In first world countries there is less men than women.

Prostitutes and high N count women are in the minority and therefore they are often times deleted from average due to the statistical deviation if they are in the 4th quartal. Only 2nd and 3rd quartal are what makes the average median, thus every second woman is the average and one in four women are below average.

Its actually very easy to explain.

the explanation you usually hear from people who care about "N-count" is that there's a tiny group of men ("chads") who have sex constantly with a lot of different women, while most average men only have a few sexual partners at most

average n-count isn’t an important metric
the statistical fact has a relatively small effect
more demographic information is needed. Among the elderly, mortality rates are higher for men than women, leaving a larger population of women than men. 89 year old women should not be included in this kind of analysis

This isn't a statistical "problem". I've read about this before concerning partner count and it crops up in so many arenas: mean doesn't tell the whole story if the data isn't normally distributed. A meme this week concerning the economics of the "average" tax cut is good example.

Aside from lying on self-reported polls. It's a polling problem. These n-count discussions are based on age ranges, typically college students.

Ages 18-22 year old women: average X sex partners

Ages 18-22 year old men: average Y sex partners

This can be because people in that age range sleep with people outside of that age range.

People refusing (unable?) to understand the difference between mean and median would fight tooth and nail to convince others that the SMP had to be mathematically balanced. I guess Id just ask men who obssess over this topic how that has helped you in life. It's one thing so say I prefer a woman who hasn't been around the block and keep it moving. It's another thing to spend your time searching the internet for studies about other people's sex lives. I just don't get it.
