Disclaimer: Yes, I know that some feminists do this too. No, you don't need to mention it in the comments, since this post isn't about that. This post is about Red Pill and a logical fallacy I see very very often on there.

So I recently read about the ultimate attribution error (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_attribution_error) and I immediately thought of the red pill. Very basic explanation is that in your ingroup (so men in TRP's case) attributes are personal, but when looking at an outgroup, they are characterizing for the entire group.
See also this comic that explains it very simply and pretty well: http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/how_it_works.png

A few TRP posts that illustrate the concept:

His sister did an unreasonable thing sometime, therefore women live in the present. He also graciously adds "Not us men, we have goals and work towards them". Should we apply this post the other way around, we can easily conclude that all men are drug addicts, since I know at least three who are.

A girl who's fiance doesn't really wants sex cheats and tries to justify it. Apart from the fact that if your girlfriend doesn't give you sex, cheating is okay with TRP and the other way around is not, this is a single example. Yet at lessons learned, we can see "Women will never accept blame for their actions. So don't bother engaging in arguments trying to prove something is her fault." Yet again TRP takes one example and somehow thinks it applies to all women.

These are two posts that are on the frontpage of TRP right now. I think that as long as TRP cannot see that anecdotes can be found to prove literally anything, it'll never really get truths out there. I can find you an anecdote for a man being irrational and shifting blame for every story TRP has about a woman doing so. But if I were to say "all men are irrational and will always try to shift blame" I'd be critized and rightly so. So TRP, if you will, why is this line of reasoning okay? For a community that calls itself rational, this is in my opinion one of the least rational ways to "find truths" about the other gender. Even moreso, I often get the impression that a TRP'ers starts thinking about a truth he thinks must be true in women, than looks around until he's found an example and then uses that as proof, instead of the other way around.

Also bonus: a guy calling TRP out for it, and providing a good reasoning for it. But of course, he's downvoted.

From the comments on there:

AWALT is TRP’s version of when women says all men are dogs.

Which confuses me, because apperently he is okay with women saying that? And here I thought TRP was also in favor of men getting things like more custody and not getting divorced raped, something that will certainly not happen if women keep a mindset like this.
