definitely was a consideration when deciding career trajectory. made me more risk averse, and i felt some pressure to start making more money sooner. i ended up never needing that realized money like i thought i did, and the trajectory alone was good enough, but i do remember feeling the pressure.

i imagine women have a wide variety of needs in this department, so its not like i picked some median or mean income requirement and worked towards though. i more based it off what i perceived to be my type, and imagined what a “comfortable” lifestyle meant for them, and that was my target.

When I was single, it was a factor. One has to be conscious of what information they share. More importantly, with whom they share it. Usually when queried, I would give some innocuous reply like; ‘I’m a student of life’. Or one of my volunteering titles. Unfortunately when you say you don’t work, people feel a ways about it. So I never really disclosed that sort of information.

Additionally I was raised to value discretion. With everything out, up on the internet, it’s even more important. It’s okay to be proud, about one’s achievements. One’s career. I think anything to do with finances though, should definitely be held in confidence.

Income is a secondary consideration for most women. All a guy needs is enough to be part of the woman in question's socioeconomic group.

A tall athletic college professor making 100K easily tops a short dumpy investment banker making 500K.

A hot bus driver making 50K easily tops an unattractive plumber who makes 80K.

I chose my career (electrical engineering) because I was good at math and I was fascinated with electricity. The fact that it also pays well is an added bonus. It was never part of a long plan to get more dates/sex.

Do you not have some sort of idea what kind of money it actually takes for a couple of family to live comfortably? Do you consistently date or find women with seemingly overly luxurious needs where I don't see such women?

Different people have different definitions of what “living comfortably” means. That’s the problem that I ran into with my first wife. My second wife and I, on the other hand, are in general agreement with what “living comfortably” means.

Absolutely nothing. I'm not changing my career to fit a woman. I'm not basing who I ask out on their career requirements. I'm going to ask out women who are hot, have sex, and then if the sex is good, maybe see them again. And this is how all men should do it.

This is an awalt moment. Women's money is their own, but men's money is also their money. Women don't spend money on men the same way they expect money to be spent on them.

I was never interested in those specific posts. If I rephrase your question as “Guys, did you take into account women’s preferences when choosing a career”, then yes.

The thing is, men have to adjust themselves to become what women like. If there were no women, I’d probably be okay with being an Amazon warehouse worker. I do not like offices and suits, but I go there and wear one.

Men do lots of things to become a viable option. We work jobs we don’t like, go to gyms we don’t like, learn hobbies we don’t like and so on.

Exaggeratedly. Realizing that women wouldn't be willing to fuck me forever if I lived in a cardboard box definitely helped in deciding how much of my time and energy to devote to my financial security.

I myself have almost no demands or desires for any luxury items, or any extra comfort. If I hadn't started a relationship and a family, I'd probably be living like a monk.

Taking into account women's point of view and and the needs of family, it made me change my lifestyle a lot. It can be said that my whole adult life I earn mostly for women and children, because I almost don't need money. I never experienced a lack of money when I was single.

But now these videos are more for fun, if I happen to come across one. The economic situation in the US is different than in Europe, for example, so it's more of a curiosity than it being somehow important to my life.

A persons career and or financial independence isn’t relevant to most men when it comes to a partner, It’s very low on the list. It is higher on the list for women in general though.

I did use that kind of data. Yes.

Silly lil me was here thinking people chose careers for their own security needs they considered on their own competencw, or based on their abilities/interests.

All I need from my job is enough to survive. Everything else is just to be attractive.

Considering that what I consider to live comfortably most people would find inconsiderately frugal. I didn't have that idea.

Personally it’s because I’ve seen videos talking about it and I wanted to know the validity of said videos. Best way to do that was to ask all of you lovey ladies what your opinions on the matter is. I’m going to do whatever I want to because that’s how I’ve always done. I just find it endlessly entertaining to see how people interact with eachother and why they do/ think why they do.

I don’t care about money at all besides providing the basic needs and comforts of life. I’m an artist though, so women like us even when we’re poor lol. I don’t have the best game in general, but talking about the things I’ve made and the projects I’ve worked on is enough to get at least a friendly interest out of most women.

I was wanting to know what sort of dude do I have to be in order to give me the best chance of finding my match. That was all.

Then there was the issue of wondering if women were being honest, example.

Ask me what I am physically attracted to and I will say slender women of normal height range, any hair colors, any eye color, pleasant face with breasts no larger than DD.

Ask a woman if she likes men with muscles and she hems and has, dodges, deflects and whatnot more often than giving an honest answer like"I am attracted to men who go to the gym regularly and keep themselves trimmed up'.

Eventually, I asked different questions and came to MGTOW.
