A single mom who's not a widow? Not a chance. That situation has never appealed to me.

It's a bit of a different story with widows (which are only like 1%-4% of the single mom population).

If I were younger, I'd be willing to take a risk with a widow given the right situation, but not now. I've known a couple of widows in real life, and I remember them pedestalizing their late husbands, which was understandable from their perspective. Constantly being compared to the best memories of someone's late partner is just not something I have the patience to sign up for right now. IMO they deserve a much more capable man.
