In 1998 my wife got a small, very inexpensive ruby engagement ring. She was very gracious about it.

We were saving for a home, and didn't have a lot of money.

She gave us three beautiful children. Didn't work a lot in paid employment, but worked harder than me, raising the kids and building a home.

16 years later I replaced the ring. She still wears the original on her right hand. Now she has a 35k engagement ring.

Never once did she criticise, or complain.

Good woman.

If she had of complained, she would have been gone. But I was lucky enough to have picked better.
