I will not date a single mom either. The main reason is that one day, I want kids of my own, not to take care of someone else's.

An ex friend of mine started dating a single mother with 5 kids, none of them his. This is a guy who only ever had one other relationship in his life. I always thought he was gullible and being used, but if he's happy with his choice then that's what matters, I guess. It's just not a choice I would ever make.

That's a pretty wild presumption there. The single moms I've seen are not at all trying to find someone to support them financially. They just want a romantic life. They just let you know that they can't do the whole 'spend the weekend together' thing in advance.

I am generally not interested in single moms for a date, because I still like wild adventures of randomly deciding to book a hotel somewhere or whatever. So I would swipe left, but I am appreciative they let me know to swipe left. There's nothing wrong with them wanting some romance too.

Let's quell some myths that keep coming up in this thread:

This is not how vaginas work. The organ heals over time. There are times when people change, relationships fail, and the best thing for the man and the woman is to split. Sometimes this results in a single mother. Is it good? No, a nuclear family is obviously the ideal position, but it serves nobody for two people who are unhappy to remain together. Better for the child to see one happy parent than two miserable ones.

If you have 1 kid it could have been a mistake.

If you have 3 kids then you committed to a long term relationship, were halfway through, and fucked it up. I'm not saying you don't deserve happiness but you have a much higher chance of being incomparable with long term relationships than other people especially when add the new baggage of someone elses kids in the mix.

You should probably focus on them and start dating again when they are all old enough to look out for themselves a bit.
