-A port of call is a ship's stop to reload supplies and cargo on a sailing itinerary. You may be thinking of a port of entry. If you're going to call people 'fucking stupid' I'd think you would be enlightened enough to know the difference.

-No, the law does not require you to enter at a port of entry to legally apply for asylum. The law explicitly says the opposite. To your point it does allow the AG to transfer asylum requests to another established country.

-You're the one 'all over the place' by bringing up something Obama did which was not relevant to Barr's order that was declared unconstitutional. That's exactly what 'whataboutism' is--Trump and his administration's policies can be fairly critiqued today without needing to defend anything Obama did yesterday.

In fact I have been to more countries than you have fingers and toes x2. America is what it is bc we have laws that are enforced. Most countries were never able AND are still not able to exact enforcement which is why you see people fleeing their shitholes to go somewhere that is not a shithole. America has a duty to enforce its borders and protect its citizens from those who seek to disregard our laws. Plain and simple.

I'm not saying illegals are not human or they shouldn't be helped, but not on the backs of those who are here now following the rules.

Unless of course we swap out (via 1:1 parity) illegals for liberals. Those who want to be here and have a taste for freedom vs those who despise the foundations on which we live.

It’s a sad day in America in which the standard you hold for the President is: Don’t get into WWIII, don’t launch immigrants over the border, and don’t kill gay people. Such a high standard you have.

I also wouldn’t say everything that the media has reported was a lie. You would of known this if you actually read the Mueller report in which 80% of its content was already being reported by the media I.e trump tower meeting in which he claimed never happened (it did) and many more.

AOC ideas are half cocked, I agree with you there but at least those are ideas in the right direction. I don’t hear anything from the Republican on how they going to combat climate change or how they will offer universal healthcare. All the ideas are from the left whether you like them or not.

If your friend was in the Military I don’t think he would have much to worry since there are lots of resources when it come to protection in the military. Source: use to be in the military for 10 years.

All you have to look at is the droughts, the rising sea levels, and what companies are against these kind of policy changes.

You maybe the lucky few who does have good insurance and that’s awesome. But for the rest of the population (44 million people) still lack coverage or are under insured. So maybe Medicare for all is not your cup of tea, but Medicare-Public Option would be something that you are for since you are able to stay on your insurance.

There has also been an increase of fake hate crimes as well. but that’s just more fuel to my fire, the media takes a fictitious story that makes no damn sense at all and runs with it. When it’s proven to be a complete lie their retraction is in the fine print of page 16 next to the obituary.

All honesty, I’ve only read various synopses of the report, I haven’t read it myself. Regardless, Russia didn’t do what the media said Russia did for 2 years. They did stuff, but hacking and manipulating voters in a super malicious way to put Trump in power.. no.

That wasn’t the message I intended, I believe that we are royally fucking the earth and we have nowhere to go so we need to stop royally fucking the earth. I’m also a conservative, with conservative friends and family members, so I hear their thoughts and reasoning against climate change.

Again, as above, this is where I don’t toe the line with traditional conservatism. I’m one of the lucky few who works in healthcare and pretty much all of my patients will have coverage. As for climate change, coming from a somewhat undergrad research on the subject, I definitely believe it’s true and I think the Dems really need to hit this point harder and in a different way I.e If we don’t stop royally fucking the Earth then we are royally going to have an immigration problem in the future. Most like people won’t believe it until it affect them or if it’s more tangible evidence in my opinion

Nah, it's really not.

Take away our government. All of it. Financial help, security, stability (whatever little amount there is at this point), eradicated. Now take every gang you can think of in New York, Detroit, LA, any major cities, and multiply them enough to overthrow the current government with how little power it now holds due to its lack of influence. That is Mexico. That is how they live.

Would you not risk your life, the lives of your family, to seek a better one by going to Canada? Would you HONESTLY just sit in your own country and say "Yeah things'll get better, let's not break the law because laws are laws", knowing at any day you could lose everything for nothing? I know you wouldn't. Not if you have any speck of self-preservation, not if you cared enough for your family's safety to risk everything for it.

America was founded on the principle of people who didn't deserve to be here, who had no RIGHT to be here, who had no fucking idea of what was here, to be allowed here. That is America. And we are denying those people the same point we put ourselves here on. We are denying them what made America into America, and that's just plain sickening to think about, personally. I'm not patriotic, but I'm damn-well sick of seeing such unAmerican behavior being applauded because 'laws are laws', because that's just so fucking hypocritical with our current political climate. Politicians, a president, that have so overtly stepped over laws are given no penalty. Where's the justice in that? Why so focused on the people with darker skin over the people sitting their fat asses in office, sucking up whatever life is left in the working class?

Not emotional, and I sincerely believe that you're not qualified to judge the intelligence of others friend. You have absolutely no idea of what "Criminal", "Crime", "Adult", or "Child" mean, or how they are related and their interactions in a legal context.

A child is not a criminal. And i'm not even entering the very strict subject of how to process and investigate the misdoings of a child. In factual terms, a child is never a criminal. They make partake in illegal activities and need intervention, but they're not criminals.

I'll take a wild guess and assume that you haven't taken any legal course ever in your life. Why do you state your ignorant opinions as facts is baffling but not surprising. Please, do some research.

(in this vitriol-filled environment i'll sincerely address your comment) I believe it's a mix of propaganda tiredness and absurd celebrydom. AOC line of questioning is indeed dumb, but the rage against her is emanating from her unjustified moral high ground: How dare he act in a way i do not approve. He's clearly acting in a conservative, zero tolerance way, that is highly questionable both in ethics and in results, but that's not her debate. Rather "HOW DARE YOU DO THAT? HOW DARE YOU SIGN THIS?". More of the old same "my politics is that there should be no poor people, and no rapes or murders" which is both naive and insulting, since it doesn't address any issue and makes a serious critic something of a joke. It's baby's first approach to politics.

For your later point, they are not concentration camps. I understand what you mean, i get the parallel, but from a rando to another, i think we should have more respect for victims of war and massacres like the ones of WWII, and not just misuse the term. Only then can we sincerely talk, no?
