My bf (25) and I (25) have been together for almost 4 years. He is def a provider and he fronts most of the bills and works pretty hard. He has told me numerous times that he wants to marry me and have children. He just wants me to fully commit to the relationship. As in serving him or catering to his needs. Like cooking cleaning and all that. I'm just having a hard time doing that fully, bc so many women in and out of my family so you shouldn't do that for a man you aren't married to before you're married. Because it'll lead to you not getting married at all. I really want to have a family but I am fearful of doing all these things for him and he still doesn't marry me bc it's been so long. He has told me that I'm doing better and stepping up but he wants more effort from me. We have both grown a lot In our relationship. But i'm ignorant and scared if i'm being honest and really need some guidance

Update: I'm not worried that he's stringing me along. Is there a possibility he could get cold feet of course. That's not the point of this post. I think he def treats me like we're married already. I just need help from a woman's perspective on how to stop the self sabotage of listening to women who have a negative bitter view in relationships cause that's what I'm surrounded around.
