Honestly, worrying about stuff like this is going to cause problems to any relationship that are unnecessary. This is a perfect example of what people incorrectly think red pill theories care about when really it doesn’t matter at all.

I mean … do I think it’s ok? Yeah nothing morally wrong about that to me. Especially if I’m driving. Would it be nice to have a man do it? Yeah sure I guess. I just don’t think it’s that serious tbh.

Not generally as my husband typically insists on doing it, but occasionally I have done it if he was working on something, needing to rest in the car, or had to go inside the store etc.

The only time I pump my own gas is if I'm out by myself. Otherwise my husband is usually driving and he'll do it

Never pumped gas with a man, but it’s also never been my car. My ex would just give me his debit card and let me get us snacks and drinks while he worried about the gas.

I am not from the US. We have fuel attendants who do this for us.

Right now, I hardly drive and use his car (more than he does as he works from our home office) but he always pays for fuel.

Maybe this is comparable. I usually fetch our takeout deliveries and he pays for them. He’s super exhausted by the end of a work day and I don’t mind because I could always use the extra steps.

I think the “pumping gas” thing would depend on whether it was as easy as collecting the take out :)

You're asking the wrong question.

"Ladies, do you think it's ok to fight your partner on a small preference, like who 'should' pump gas when out?"

Obviously the answer is no.

Don't use everyone's responses here as justification to continue knocking up against your partner and failing to take a chance to endear yourself to him. They answered your question literally, on personal preference, without putting themselves in your shoes.

My husband always does it. He also always drives. He comments on men who have women do either. He considers it emasculating and lazy. I hate driving. He drove a truck for a living at one time and grew up in the rodeo world, so he drove all over the country. It works for us.

I think it’s okay life it shouldn’t make or break a relationship if you have to put petrol in the car once in a while.

Growing up my parents always made us children put petrol in so doing it isn’t a big deal to me lol. It’s like taking out the bin - whoever it’s more convenient for to do it should do it. I’d never drive my car home empty expecting my man to fill it up, just like I’d never fill the bin and expect the next person to take it out. I prefer the idea of making life easier for one another than strict roles

I think it is whatever you are comfortable with. Though I will say last year i tried to pump gas without my husband I legit couldn't figure it out, that's how little I have pumped gas in my life. But, to each their own! I like for my husband to do little things like this for me, but I also am in school to be working while he is going to stay home, so there's that.

I drive everywhere because I have horrible motion sickness lol unfortunately, I usually just pump gas since I’m on that side Heheh with his card. If I’m in a nasty mood I just stare at him and he does it 😂

I think from a non rp view, “chivalry” most dudes prob offer to pump the gas but driving cars is so popular today that most folks will just do it themselves if they’re the one driving.

I don’t think it’s a problem. One time my ex was in a video meeting while driving and couldn’t get out to pump gas so I did it so he could keep talking. Whoever is in the best spot to do it, really

I agree with everyone. I've never pumped gas With my man with me unless he's physically not capable. This one girl offered to pump & pay. I thought that was very odd.
