I'm a 25 y.o. woman who got engaged a month ago to a 27 y.o. man. We've dated for six years, starting when I was 19 (first person I had PIV sex with, for tmi's sake). He graduated a year before me and moved away to work and get his Master's degree, and I moved to a different city for a job after I graduated. We were long distance for three years total, and then I moved ~10 months ago to a new job closer to him. We got engaged a couple months ago. I was the first girl he pursued in a serious way, so we had to grow up together and learn how to communicate healthily in a relationship. I consider myself lucky to have him. We love each other a lot, make each other laugh, support one another, agree on religion/finances/kids/goals, etc.; he's a good leader in our relationship. I want to start grad school in the fall of 2019, so we're planning to get married next summer and he'll move with me (exact location unknown).

Here's the thing: I'm not love with him. I really haven't ever been. I'm attracted to him and I LOVE him, but I never had those infatuated feelings or butterflies. I was going through some rough emotional stuff when he started pursuing me, but I'm capable of those feeling (crushes, etc.). I have no doubts about my ability to be faithful, and I know being "in love" is a fleeting part of any relationship; that said, as a newly engaged woman, it's pretty depressing to constantly get questions about how we "fell in love," or to be asked how excited I am about wedding planning. I can easily imagine being married to him, but I'd be perfectly down to elope. In short, we love each other and I feel secure, but not "excited."

Subconsciously, I know that my grad school track will likely have tons of guys that I could also be compatible with. There's a definite opportunity cost here. Marrying my fiance would lead to a happy, stable life with a great man--but the inner hamster keeps reminding me that I'll never experience falling in love if I marry my partner, and that I'm probably still young enough to date around. Plus, I feel like an absolute bitch not being over the moon at the idea of marrying my fiance. I am lucky.

I just started therapy because I want to get these feelings straightened out with an uninterested third party, and to rule out any outside anxiety.

Any thoughts appreciated, especially from women who have broken off engagement or gotten cold feet. I need perspective from women who value committed relationships, because the very few people that I've mentioned cold feet to have immediately said "You're young! Go sleep around!" which isn't something I'd consider.
