False nails?

I don't think there's anything wrong or necessarily "fake" or "unfeminine" about false nails. Some people can't grow their nails long naturally for various reasons, and many designs are quite pretty. Personally I don't wear false nails because I've never had trouble growing and caring for my own nails (and I know that wearing false nails for extended periods of time can damage natural nails). But I don't think there's anything wrong with women deciding to do that if they want to, and I don't find them unappealing at all. Unkempt natural nails are far worse than fake ones imo.

Depends. Sometimes the really long acrylics can be tacky looking. However false nails can be pretty. I like them. They especially look good with jewelry.

I think polished, manicured nails are super feminine. I have tried fake nails now and then but find that I feel kind of ridiculous with them on, especially long ones. Gel manicures are my go to now.. they last a long time and keep your nails looking nice and taken care of. I get gel color on my nails and toes every 2 weeks. My husband doesn’t care much about makeup/nails/clothes unless it’s excessive, but he always notices if my nails are not painted and looking good lol

I think the goal with nails (real or fake) is to look clean and neat. You don't want their length preventing you from daily life tasks (typing, cooking, kickboxing, etc). You also don't want that gross limbo with fakes where some are falling off or growing out. If you can handle the maintenance of fakes, fine.

They can be pretty! Especially if they look natural. Just in my experience, I think guys like the look of them, but if they ask if they’re fake and I admit yes then they are like “oh....”

I ALWAYS have a pedicure though, and my fiancé loves it.

In my personal opinion, it's more RP to have natural nails that show your health and vitality. But I know lots of other RPW would disagree.

My boyfriend has instructed me to never wear false nails, otherwise I would try them out. Instead I got gel nails- not bad at all! Give that a try.

I wear bio gel on my nails but they are my own. It reinforces them so they don’t break. I don’t wear them long either. I think as long as they’re kept nice and neat, they make a woman look “put together”.

I wanted to try acrylic but I thought my SO would get creeped out at them.

Instead, I have spent the last 6 weeks miraculously refraining from biting my natural nails and they're really coming though. He likes them painted but doesn't like the way they feel if I accidentally graze him with them. I like it for petting animals who like the scratching.

Edit: There is a young woman I work with who does have acrylics and they're lovely. Too long for ME to function in but they look feminine and fit her look very well. Last month they were a lovely clear polish with lots of reflective sparkles, now a matte turquoise. Then there's another woman with acrylics that don't seem as flattering. I think she gets them too short for how wide her fingers are so it just accentuates the thick/short fingers she has. Be mindful of the style and how it looks on YOU, not in a photo on someone else.

Guy here. I think a lot of times acrylic nails look more feminine than short natural nails. As long as they’re not over the top hooker style tacky.

I think they're tacky and outdated. If you like the polished look of fake nails I recommend getting a gel manicure.

I have long acrylics. They slim my fingers and I wear them like an accessory. My boyfriend likes them for back scratches. I paint then probably 2-3 times a week. I absolutely love them.

I get acrylics bc I tend to bite my nails. I get them short and the most natural looking they can be, I cant stand the super embelished designs with crystals and stuff.

I have gotten compliments from guys bc of my nails so I think they work lol

I get the solar acrylic. I let him pick out the design and he loves how other girls are always complimenting my nails. Honestly I think short painted nails make women look like a child.

My nails look like they belong to a child. Short and stubby. Fake nails are the only way I can feel feminine about my hands personally.

I wear short, natural looking acrylics most of the time. I'm a nail biter and even at 30 I've had trouble stopping completely. Acrylics mean I have a perfect set all the time, and keeps my hands out of my mouth.

I think long, DMV-lady nails look tacky (and unsanitary), though.

You would get used to the false nails if you wore them enough. I think they can be polished when they are cut shorter and they have a nice long lasting effect but I personally hate how they destroy the natural nail bed underneath. I steer clear and opt for regular polish instead but polish wears off much more quickly. Its preference really. The take home is when the right circumstances call for natural no polish nails verses polish/fakes.

I started doing hard gel nails and toes about 5 years ago and have no regrets. I used to bite and pick at my nails/fingers, and I no longer have to deal with it. Plus, I love having the ability to make them cute, colorful, and sparkly while boxing or doing other MMA activities. They rarely break!

My ex husband thought they were a waste of money and going to lead to cancer, but my boyfriend loves taking me and even will come by with food for me and my technician!

I see nothing wrong with wearing them for fun sometimes. I only imagine it would get impractical if it was always.

I don’t wear red lipstick every day, I think natural is better, but I might wear it now and then for fun.

Guy here. Nails are important. One of the first things I notice. And long nails are extremely feminine...so it's a pretty straight forward answer. :)

Late to this thread, but I grew my nails out and love them! They were not very strong, but my manicurist used the dipping powder method on them. Now they are long and very strong!

I think it depends on what you find appealing. I think my hands look best with false nails on. (I am unable to grow mine) I only make them about as long as the tip of my finger, so quite short by today's standards of inch long stiletto's. Honestly I find the super long one's to be kind of trashy, but a fingertip length nail with a nude polish looks very universally flattering, and possibly a way to get used to seeing them on your hands. Most of the time when we don't like something its because we just aren't used to seeing it on ourselves. Just my personal thoughts
