Because the overwhelming evidence is that men prefer youth and beauty, because they are markers of fertility. Men only have to solve for sex, women have to solve for everything else.

That said, “wife goggles” are a real thing. So, if a man had you when you were younger, that can carry over, as you age. This is why being a “boss bitch” and waiting until 30+ to marry is such a horrible strategy. The husband has nothing to fall back on in terms of remembering the beauty of her youth. Why? Because she gave that away to every outlaw biker, escaped mental patient, and drug dealer at last call.

Yes. Because while beauty is tied to youth, it's in the wider context of being considered beautiful from the outset.

For example, a woman like Monica Bellucci will make any age look gorgeous because, objectively, she was always incredibly beautiful (insert any actress you want here, I chose Monica because she's aged pretty well).

Meanwhile a plain 18 year old will always be plain even with the help of makeup and good fashion.

Also, I'm continually surprised by the amount of men who say they find women older than them incredibly hot. Not just in looks per se, but the experience and maturity that comes with being older; men have told me they like the fact older women are more in tune with their bodies, less clingy and dependent, and overall have their lives together more. To me this makes sense. An 18 year old might be young and fertile blah blah blah but ultimately men desire substance in a long term partnership, someone they can talk to and learn with, not just a hot body they can pump babies into

Depends on your standards, the majoooority of men are very forgiving in regards to women physiques, it's actually women who are looking for the tiniest flaw usually. But yes if you are a man with high standards you tend to be focused almost exclusively on young women, I sometimes myself will do even if she is not pretty beautiful just because she's young and find her attractive, hard to avoid it. But yeah that's just exceptions most men will be very forgiving if you both love each other

Looks and youth matter quite a bit but if you're an unkind, not-pleasant-to-be-around, immature person, you're going to have a difficult time acquiring a worthy partner. I'd say your therapist is 70% right; men prefer youth but they also value capacity for maternal instincts such as compassion, caring, affection, selflessness etc.

As I age, the more I realize they really do BECOME unimportant. I've been married 11 years. I do believe him when he says some women look too young for him at his age. I'm bi, so I see it too and agree; it's not that I'm unaware the woman is hot -for her age, but 22 year olds are starting to look like children to me.

Youth is incredibly important. Not only because of looks and fertility but because you are purer and more innocent. It’s not everything but it is important. The free market dictates this pretty clearly. Men with all the options in the world choose to date younger. If you don’t believe youth matters, you are delusional.

I believe it, from what 8ve noticed specifically with Ryan Reynolds and George Clooney is that while they dating women significantly younger than them these women carry feminine energy, looking at their previous partners they seemed to lean more on their masculine, while they still hold feminine energy.

So it's possible to see a guy with a woman his age, depending on this man's archetype (alpha, beta, etc.) She is more than likely leaning more in her feminine than her masculine.

If you notice, while I myself am not a fan of either man, Clooney and Reynolds are Alpha men, they needed someone to balance out their masculinity, unfortunately in Hollywood women are being told "be like a man to get a man" and we all know this isn't the way to go, so younger women or women who weren't raised the Hollyweird way are the ones who tend to attract older men.

Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson, she's beautiful, why did he leave her? I don't know her personally but based on most of the characters she plays and the interviews she's in she leans more in her masculine

I'm 24 and I've noticed I attract men in their late 30's, why? Because unlike most (NOT ALL) the women their age I have no problem with a man taking the lead if he does so responsibly and makes me feel safe.

Different folks, different strokes. That's it. That's the Ted Talk. I can't explain it scientifically, but let's just say I as a single male in my early 40s find Alexis Fawx (she's 47 now) incredibly hot even now (and that's just one example). There are countless older women, both in real life and films (porn or not) in my mind who are many years older than me who I'd bow down and worship even in public if they told me to do so. For me, the popular notion that young = beauty is complete bullshit, but for other men it might not always be the case.

People prefer many things on paper. Reality is different and more complex. Feeling, chemistry, attraction, location, general compatibility etc brings many corrections. Age gap marriages are still minority. Also, there is a fair share of older guys who will use young women for sex but don't want to do other things with them because they don't have common interests. To me, exclusive preference for as-young-as-legally-possible without any experience coming from 30+ man is a huge red flag. Usually those men hunt for their victims and don't want an actual loving relationship, especially if they don't care about anything else in woman.

Maybe your therapist is saying you're letting these beliefs affect your outlook on life in a negative way. I think there's some truth to it, but I've also come to believe youth, like beauty, is influenced by a state of mind. When you act trusting, sweet, faithful, open minded, it's associated with youth and is therefore attractive. Same as when you act attractively (assuming positive intentions, being confident) they associate it with beauty. An older single woman has the stereotype that they must be combative and set in their ways and that's why they're not desirable. But women with good characteristics are desirable at any age. If not for the child bearing abilities then at least for companionship.

The gentlemen I know don't want to date extremely young women because they'd have nothing in common. It would be purely transactional and manipulative with that kind of an age gap. So I think most people mature and want someone about their own level. Only men who purely want looks and children or haven't matured emotionally will go after extremely young women.

What I love about my therapist is she reminds me when she brings her bias or her “stuff” to the table. Like one time I was telling her about my nutrition and getting it back together. She then went on to say don’t be disappointed or hard on myself when I fall off. Although great advice, I was so confused… I was saying hey, it’s all good if I fall off and come back on but we kept going back and forth about it. Next meeting, she apologized and said that was her stuff that she brought in. And although I sat on that for a bit. I appreciated her being honest bc many therapists won’t be.

Im saying all this because it’s important to vet therapists out. I’ve been in therapy since I was a child because I was adopted and my adoptive parents wanted to make sure I was okay. Years later, multiple different therapists and I actually found my fit. She’s honest and when I vent… she says we are here for you and we continue to analyze myself and not other people’s behavior to me but my behavior to them. Vetting therapists are so very important.

Now, I’m not saying yours was right or wrong. In many red pill communities, they talk about the aspect of indoctrination (feminism, wokeism) and coachability. Many men state that women are less indoctrinated when younger and more coachable. Then there’s also biology when factoring in kids.

Age for women do matter but also state of mind. What can you bring to the table for your man.

In summary, vet your therapist to know are they helping me find the answer or are they putting their own bias (especially with the hot topics of todays society in there). Trust yourself for the answer and do what you can do to show up and be the best person you can be for yourself and for a partner.
