Geologist - probably averages around a 6 since what I do (~8) is far more 'alpha' than what people conceive that I do (~4).

Let's see - I pilot all things trucks, ATVs, snowmobiles, side-by-sides, and boats to get to the job site. I will often float plane into an area, or get dropped off by helicopter.

I carry bear bangers and spray for brown and black bears, and firearms for polar bears.

I am trained in wilderness first aid and survival. I've had to rescue co-workers in an ATV accident two separate times, 2+ hours of flight-time from the nearest clinic. I've come face to face with moose, caribou, bears, and a lynx. I've had to fjord several rivers. I've gotten stuck 12 km from camp in -40 degree weather, at night. I have to manage a range of rough contractors who are older, bigger, and tougher than me. I work in all weather, in some of the buggiest conditions you've never experienced.

Of course, most people just assume I sit in a lab and look at rocks all day. It evens out.

Barman - 5 Pour beer all night and talk to any bloke who comes in with anything interesting to say, and making cocktails for staff parties/hen's nights in between or weekends. - Negatives include not being my own boss, positives include useful skills for talking to people you don't know, and getting tips/numbers/both if I've had a good night. The occasional free beer helps too

Attorney: anywhere from 2-8. An attorney can be an ultra-connected rich suave playboy or a friendless bitch who works 100 hours a week in a windowless room and has nothing interesting to talk about. It's what you make of it. I think I have my current job at around a 4, and I'm working on improving further.

Careers aren't alpha or beta. You bring that to the table. I know beta lawyers, alpha janitors, beta CEOs, alpha nurses, etc. It's all on you. 100%. Unless you are working as an assistant or basically someone's bitch, you have the capability to be alpha in your job.

I know weed dealers that work maybe 15 hrs a week, make 110k a year, have a rotation of hot bitches, and basically other than the boredom/headaches of dealing, are very happy with their life. And I know drug dealers that are retarded little BP boys who wind up losing big time because they cannot think for themselves, they trust that their partners will selflessly do whats best for them, they get no ass, etc.

Even if you have a superior who you have to defer to and basically act beta around, or you are in a bureacratic situation where HR would castrate you if you acted masculine... you can still do your job in a reasonably alpha manner. Which is why it's retarded to call careers "alpha" or "beta". You have careers that have a tendency to attract alphas and careers that have a tendency to attract betas - but a beta in a typically alpha career (musician) will still feel all the pangs of being a beta.

I mean, money from a career is nice, it helps with logistics and being able to afford living in a hip location. You just come across as a massive chode trying to drop what you do for work into conversation/it's completely boring to talk about and worse yet, you'll end up screening in gold diggers.

Your question makes no sense. There is a difference between alpha appeal and beta appeal, but you are asking for one scale. Alpha is who she would fuck, beta is who is showed to her parents as stability beta provider. It's danger vs stability.

Examples:

pimp, mob executioner, drug dealer, undercover cop, rockstar, porn star - alpha 9, beta 1

doctor, lawyer, professor - alpha 1, beta 9

Engineers and programmers are NOT alpha, at all. in fact anyone working in a STEM profession is pretty beta by default. The smart ones dont waste much if anytime working in technical professions..they move to the business world and get paid for their analytical/numerate abilities.

TL;DR alphas work in corporate sales roles, finance, and blue collar trades
