Deadspin story here

Summary:

  • Mario Balotelli, one of the most famous soccer players in the world, hits on hot girls through Instagram. Totally normal for athletes to do this. One had a bf but she still responded favorably and gave Mario her info.

  • Beta bf finds out his gf was one of Mario's targets. She is not special to Mario, but she is special to the beta bf, so he tries to be a good white knight and defend her honor. He doesn't even consider for a second that his gf has any agency. In his mind, Mario is just a douchebag and his gf was helpless.

  • He posts screenshots with the caption of "The moment Balotelli tries to steal my girlfriend :( #WhatShouldIDo?"

  • Bf thinks he has a victory because apparently his gf "re-committed" (Of course, she did. She was outed online and to the public, so obviously she will go into retreat/victim mode; i.e., false rape claims to cover for cheating).

It's really telling just how deluded society is about this issue and this particular set of events. The article is written from the mistaken perspective that Mario should supposedly look bad or feel embarrassed as a result of these screenshots. Why? Because he attempted to hook up with an attached woman (even though it's unclear if he even knew she was attached), and supposedly that means he is a bad person.

However, female cheating exists because women respond to higher and higher SMV, and they will continue to do so regardless of how much you reason/rationalize/negotiate/argue with them that they shouldn't and that it's "immoral".

Cuckold-deniers must also realize that acknowledging the existence of cheating and learning how to deal/prevent it has nothing to do with its moral status. We all know betraying a trusted confidant is wrong. But it's still going to happen...so how do we avoid it?

We can start by first understanding the female-mind on this issue: Saying "this girl is a worthless and crazy bitch cause she cheated" is projecting a male centric moral standard onto women ("Honor is a male abstraction", etc). It's expecting women to value what we as men value. However, commitment and honor don't mean the same things to women as they do to us (nor should they really).

While many men romanticize the idea of committing to (re: protecting) one woman and earning her validation in response, women's "commitment" is very different. What they are committing to is the idea of the strongest man, not one man per se (Please read "She Doesn't Love You" /u/SoftHarem).

So while getting betrayed (cheated on) is certainly bad, you must realize that it is merely a symptom of a long list of things that have gone wrong in her mind, all of which 100% justify her cheating on you as the end result.

So back to Mario: Despite the bf's best efforts to shame Mario and look tough, the real result of this was confirmation that his gf entertained and considered the sexual advances of a popular athlete, which reinforces the idea that women respond to high SMV men regardless of moral presuppositions. At best, she used this event as a validation of her own SMV (and you can bet she will use this in the future as justification to trade up).

TL;DR The "commitment" from your unicorn is really just temporary until she can safely trade up. If she gets the chance, she will. If the chance is squandered (i.e. screenshots posted online), she will retreat back to her beta bucks, because she knows that beta bucks will never hold her accountable.

TL;DR2 Just like you put yourself in the mind of your opponent in a competition, try to view the whole cheating issue from a woman's view. The loyalty men tout is not what women follow; their loyalty is to attraction/high SMV (have you ever seen a woman trade down?).
