Saturday night about 9:30, a group of 4 middle-class Caucasians came in, three slightly above average 30 something females and similarly-aged male. They were not regulars. Turns out that it was one of the girl’s 35th birthday. The girls were well-dressed with short skirts and plenty of makeup. The guy, on the other hand, husband of the birthday girl, wore tattered cargo shorts, Sperry knock-offs and a Braves T-shirt. By 10:30, the Blue-motherfuckers had taken effect and the three girls were gyrating on the dance floor. Meanwhile, hubby was at the bar watching the replay of the Braves game. (The good guys lost in extra innings.)

The girls became more and more brazen, even awkward twerking with their hands on the floor. Several guys danced with, and on, them. They didn’t seem to mind until one guy, our resident creep who looks a bit like Truman Capote, grabbed a bit too greedily. At their request, I had to ask him to move away.

I glanced over at the husband who had averted his attention from the game and was now watching his wife getting “passed around like a bottle of Crown.” I am, generally, a good judge of body language and never considered that he might take any action. He seemed so harmless. Soon, birthday girl was in the lap of a younger Black guy, doing a stellar interpretation of Genuwine’s “Pony.”

I turned for a moment and the Braves fan lurched across the floor and grabbed the lap-dancee by the neck. I double-underhooked the hubby from behind and pushed him toward the door. He was hard to handle even though I had a solid 100lb advantage. He was literally foaming at the fucking mouth. One of the other bouncers opened the door and I threw him across the curb and into the parking lot. The female companions followed outside and his wife began hitting at him and cursing him for, “ruining her fucking birthday.” They stumbled across the lot and left, though I’m not sure anyone was sober enough to drive.

I went back inside and asked the Black guy if he was ok, he just laughed and said, “I’m fine.” When I talked with the longest-tenured bouncer he said that type of conflict was common.
