Beware! In many countries if you are in a LTR for over 5 years and you live together, you automatically become "married" (with all legal obligations which come along with it).

Few of my friends have lived with their GF for 6+ years, split up and had to go through divorce proceedings, lost 50% of their assets.

Observation #1

Marriage used to work, and work great. Back in the days. Feel free to put your own timeline here.

Then, it didn't work anymore, the proof is in the data, not only the amount of divorces, but the amount of marriages where both spouses are truly happy. And for those who say that marriage works, you have to inquire "For whom?"

This is TRP, a sexual strategy in the sense that it is for guys from guys Marriage as it is laid out today in the US/Europe no longer work for guys.

Observation #2

Marriage is nothing more than some legal contract imposed upon a relationship. So, at its base, it's a relationship, with some extra formalities from government and often religion added to it.

Relationships no longer work forever, marriage or no marriage, there are very few happy relationships that work for longer than 10 years (or even 5). So, why cluttering a temporary relationship with extra stuff that is designed for

a. Long Term

b. unilateral financial advantage, and disadvantage to the man

Marriage is very much Blue Pill stuff.

I get a lot of older guys (40s and 50s) telling me "don't get married, don't have kids" while giving me this helpless look as if they are standing inside an invisible prison cell. It's usually right after they get a berating call or text from their fat, unattractive wives. Meanwhile I sometimes describe to them my after hours escapades and/or show a picture of some young bimbo I am fucking. This never fails to get that look of envy and "man you got it made, RedPillWintergreen". And then they go right back to their blue pill existences. Poor bastards.

Although I've been married for almost 30 years and by all accounts have a good wife, that is she still rips my cloths off and drags me into bed, I too have seen so many disastrous marriages that I cannot in good conscience advise the young men of today to get married.

My wife's parents, my sister, my brother in law, many cousins, and friends and work colleagues, ALL got divorced. Some splits were amicable but many resulted in divorce rape.

If I have a secret I suppose it could be the following:

soft dread - I was never blatant about it but when her girlfriends were lusting after me she had to work hard to keep me. I never cheated or anything like that but was also never afraid to chat up her girlfriends. It was always in the context of being sociable ;-)

A subtext to this is to never let yourself go, that is dad bods may be OK, sort of, but never ever become a fat slob or someone that she would be ashamed to be seen with. Besides by remaining in shape you maintain your options which is an integral part of soft dread.

maintain your frame and invite her in - women want to be part of your life and I let her in but always on my terms
compromise - I compromised on things that didn't matter to me and stuck to my guns on things that did. You don't want to come off as a controlling asshole but then you don't want to be a pushover either. Be kind and be decent to your wife but ALWAYS be the man in the marriage.
lead - when we faced difficult times (job loss, car accident, etc...) my wife looked to me to take charge. Don't ever fail in this regard for if you do she will lose all respect and the marriage is as good as over
my girlfriend/fiance/wife wanted children, as did I and while she initially worked she above all wanted to be a wife and mother. When we were dating she tried very hard to show me what a good wife she would make. Being traditionally minded I took her up on her offer and after 30 years I can say that for me at least everything has worked out.

Having said all of that what also attracted me to her was that besides being quite pretty, she was tall, slim and most importantly had big tits ;-)

There are probably many more items which I didn't mention but these seemed to be the most important.

Edit: most of the women I know who divorced their husbands had small tits. Has anybody else seen this?

Modern men are slowly realizing there's no reason to get married. I don't think it's a conscious realization, but a realization nonetheless. Why the fuck would I tie myself down and risk half of my stuff when I don't get anything out of it in return? There's no discernible difference between a serious girlfriend and a wife. We, as society, just assign it different names. But functionally, they're the same.

Sure you can lie to her, but is that the kind of person you want to be?

Basically, it will be hard to maintain a LTR if you never marry them. You'll end up living a bachelor style life, bouncing from woman to woman.

Yes. Marriage is done. We're going to see a regression to harem structure. We're already seeing it.

Various sources project 25-33% of people will never be married, a number that goes up constantly, and, when you think about it that includes the extremes more than the average.

Some people will not get married because they can't, they're terribly low SMV. Some will be able to play the field and hold interest despite openly playing the field, because they're high SMV.

The difference is women secure provisioning from betas while pushing open relationships, and guys just want to screw around and are pretty up front about just wanting sex. I'm sure tons of men do string women along, to get sex while dangling commitment for sticking around, but it's not really viable for men to commit to a bunch of women and split resource provision. It is, however, the way of humans for those men to impregnate many women and then the betas / society and government, take up the burden of provision.

It seems that way, but certain people can't see it as a situation and still view it as a goal or ideal. Those people aren't really aware I'm that areas though.

My dad tried to call me cynical about my disinterest in marriage during one of his patented "advice I didn't ask for sessions" and my mother didn't understand it dispute the fact they they divorced while I was young. Usually I ended thay quickly by pointing out I didn't know (and indirectly challenged them to name) anyone they knew who was happily married. They couldn't. No one I know can. It's either they're married and a mess or divorced. I'm sure there are happyarriages but that's when things are in order and even those are never going to be worth the risk it carries in our time.
