Made a similar comment a a post a while back. This really makes you think about "Chad" being more of a concept then a person. you say Bob is a total alpha, but i don't really see it. he just sounds like a high value beta.

things like being tall and handsome or having a large social circle aren't inherently alpha. i know LOTS of tall handsome guys who are the bluest of bluepill beta dorks.

and most legit betas have a lot of friends. alphas are at the top of social heirarchies but betas fill out the bulk of most large social groups. real betas are social. betas are respected by other people. friendless losers with zero social connections are better described as low value betas or omegas or incels or something like that.

and the "bucks" part of BB isn't just monetary. Bob is a provider: he has been providing comfort and reliablility and security to Tracy for 1.5 years. he is the "safe" and famiiliar option. she knows that she can rely on him to take care of her (not just financially, but also emotionally, socially, etc). but all that reliability means he isn't as exciting or fun as Chad.

Your interpretation of the two dudes if WAY OFF. You are trying to personify Bob as alpha, when in actuality he is incredibly insecure, and an eager pleaser. Chad, on the other hand, is way more alpha because he has the laid back adventurous/risky/exciting whatever whatever. A typical trait you can find is if one dude needs to be around friends and the center of attention, versus another dude who is still capable of being around friends, but can also be alone doing his own thing in full confidence.

But I do agree with your notion that nothing is black and white. Unlike most other standards in life, being alpha vs beta is in fact a spectrum.
