Edit: I wish I would have titled this humans will be... humans, because I'm sure it isn't just applicable to women.

Update: 4/4/24: she told our mutual friend she's "excited to see me" and "told her husband not to come to dinner."

I've had a few sexual run ins with married women in my life, but most were older and married for money.

I own a small company, and sponsored a party last weekend.

For reference, I am extremely in shape, own a business / make a great living and have an aesthetic face.

At said party, I met an attractive friend of a friend, who is 29 and married to her college sweetheart.

When we started chatting at the party, I could tell that she was decently into me. When she went to order a drink at the bar, she put her hand down, and I noticed a diamond ring.

I quickly asked, "wait, are you married?" To which she lowly answered, "yes." I said where is your husband? And she answered with "he is home sucking his dad off watching sports."

I mentioned I am from Miami, and she also noted how she would "love to go to Miami."

Not that it's my problem, but after discovering she was married, I decided not to give her any more attention and removed myself from the conversation.

As the night went on, we continued to have some natural, flirty exchanges, not resulting in any type of escalation.

Two days later, I get an Instagram follow request, which I accepted.

This girl was a solid 8/10, and I was expecting her college boyfriend to look the same. I looked at her photos, he had lost hair, and gained significant weight since college. Not only that, but he followed her to where she was moving for a job. The type of man that likely sits on his couch on Sundays with beers in hand yelling at the TV (maybe I'm just a metrosexual fuck, because that seems to be most men.)

Another two days go by, and she's messaging me on Instagram. We are going to a workout class this weekend.

This seemingly common situation is perplexing, and just another reason why I become less and less interested in committed relationships. She has a devoted husband, yet she's messaging me and showing (albeit indirect) interest. While I'm not planning to act on this, it makes me wonder about the nature of relationships and loyalty.

The more I think about it, I think I may have been "this guy" in my last relationship, until my girlfriend did me the favor of breaking up with me - never again.

I guess this is the way of the "new" world.

Let this be another lesson, don't let yourself go while your girlfriend / wife / partner gets hotter and more successful.
