How does this additional step benefit me?

Hint, it doesn't

Originally, there was discussion with the 14th all time TRP poster (lol, CAD, if you're listening, love you bro) over at MRP. A discussion over whether the old married guys(OMG) would marry again, knowing now what they knew then. I won't rehash it here (we are all on the same page, don't worry) but there was one thread that was common between myself, redpillschool, ultmatecad, bluepillprofessor, and a lot of the other guys in there...

Incremental Benefit

or, How does this additional step benefit me?

You should already know about removing your three carrots (commitment, affection, attention) commensurate with your value received see the bitch management guide if you haven't. You should also already know about the Red Pill perspective on marriage risk and law.

how does this additional step benefit me?

You have a plate, it's beneficial to you. Sex, and not trading resources for it. It's an example of your intrinsic value paying dividends, so you get that validation of it as well. If that wasn't a part of it, you'd just get hookers, much less effort, same money shot.

This additional step after MGTOW benefits you

You have a STR, potential LTR. You give up some of your attention, and commitment. In return, you receive the knowledge of whether this person is capable of proper pair bonding. Paying dues...

long term, this step can benefit you.

LTR. you give up your commitment, attention, and affection. You receive someone you can rear children with, a 'house of cards' type partnership, or whatever your long term goals are. The stable married guy at work may get the promotion, you get a free uterus, and it's like having a roommate around the house you can fuck.

How does this additional step benefit me? Canadian Edition.

I guess the U.S. got rid of it (because of the gays) but common-law marriage. Tax wise, it's pretty much identical to marriage, and in canuckistan, it's largely a 'time in' thing. Functionally identical to an LTR, with a few legal rights thrown in. Separations involve issues if you have a pension (CF members, be aware) and generally you cannot take your toys and just go home. I argue it's a bit of the diminishing returns kicking in at this point, but the alternative is just breaking up once a year for a month, then getting back together, or trading them out every year. Not a good strategy if your long term MAP involves more than plates. Plus, you say my wife at dinner parties, so you get the nod at work for it anyways, if your place does this sort of thing. It is much closer to the idea of marriage 1.0 IMHO, though that unicorn is never coming back.

But marriage?

How does this additional step benefit me!?

There's yet to be a single person who can explain that one additional step as beneficial to a man. I've heard many ways it benefits women, even when it's being sold on it as a man.

So far, the only one that I've heard is that she refuses to not be married... an ultimatum. A test of frames. I would be ready to walk in that case... maybe you would, maybe that laaaady is actually worth you taking the plunge... doubt it, but sure.

Actually, I remember one more. For many who get their women abroad, it's a much easier way to get her citizenship. so if you're importing, there's a case to be made there

If someone has a better reason, I'm all ears.

There is no incremental benefit

How great she is, isn't the point

You can come at this with an 'all women are bitches' negative mindset, a netural 'they are just doing them, I'm doing me' neutral one or a positive 'Sprinkle a little more alpha on it, it will be fine' one.

Doesn't matter, it's still the same objective rules in place whether you are chad thundercock, or chicken little. Always think at the margins (economics 101)
