Ever since I adopted TRP, I've heard my friends and even my girlfriend mention that I am a selfish person. And this is true, but I have a hard time accepting that this is a good thing when multiple people mention it, and when \"selfish\" is the first adjective that comes to their mind when I'm mentioned.

I do prioritize myself before others. whenever I meet someone new, I give them a chance to prove their worth to me. I instinctively screen them to see if they're worthy of my time, and my investment in them for a relationship. I immediately determine what they bring onto the table -- what they can provide for me -- before I am willing to accept them into my life.

Being selfish is indeed a prerequisite of being a TRP man. It shows you value and respect yourself more than other people. And I do admit that I am selfish in that I do not care about a lot of things -- only the things that matter to me (i.e. close friends, family, my hobbies, my goals).

But I'm having trouble internalizing this as a good thing. And whenever someone says \"you're selfish\" to me in a serious way, it's almost like a challenge to my frame.

Just wanted to get this out there as I'm sure most of you would relate. While I want to be a TRP man, I still want to be a charming and likable person -- and I don't believe that both are mutually exclusive.
