He didn't pay for apologizing, he paid because after years of saying things that liberals find objectionable with relatively little consequence, he made the mistake of saying something conservatives find objectionable.

He didnt even lose frame. In his Breitbart resignation press conference he still held that his book is going to be groundbreaking and something like the biggest book of the decade or something.

He only appologized that he was so easily able to have been taken out of context with his choice of words and thereby could have misled young men into unsafe situations.

I don't necessarily think so. This is kind of like steroid scandal in MLB decade or two ago. Petite, Ortiz, Giambi, all admit they took them, they issue short statement saying they made a mistake. Public is outraged a few days and then you never hear about it or them in regards to juicing ever again. Clemens and Bonds on the other hand fight allegations never admit any wrong doing and to this day they get crucified.

Same thing with Trump and the whole birther thing with Obama. Media trying to make it an issue during his campaign. He holds a press conference and in thirty seconds admits Obama is born in the US - game over we never hear about this issue again.

You can hold frame by acknowledging when you are wrong but you do it and quickly move on. If Milo starts whining about how he is being treated unfairly or makes unending excuses up he will lose it all and give the media and left exactly what they want - to make it a big deal.

This very well may be the greatest thing that's ever happened to Milo, so far. He apologized for some lines that didnt sync well. As he stated it was a long drawn out interview and if you know Milo, he will use every second of any interview to its full extent, even when its not his show (see last Bill Maher episode)

The reason I say it may be the biggest moment in his life, is because history has taught us that all the greats, REINVENT themselves. I saw the entire broadcast and it was almost 35% him promoting his new book. If anybody has seen the Kobe Bryant documentary, Kobe Bryant Muse, he went through the same type of change during his career (The Black Mamba stage) and rebuilt his career from being the bad guy. Tom Brady used deflategate and all the other accusations to help him refocus into his career. To me it seems that Milo has outgrown Breibart and is ready to do his own thing. That I know of, Milo said that he's had other opportunities for book deals. Any money motivated publisher will be sure to take his book deal. To think he's lost his job is absurd. He said Breibart didnt fire him but he opted to leave them and they were probably fine with it because they had an amicable relationship. As I stated, he's just outgrown it, he in essence, is now as big as breibart. Did he molest somebody? No? Did he kill somebody? No. Did he commit wall street fraud or bamboozled millions of their money? No. He phrased a sentence incorrectly after a long interview. We are all guilty of that at some point of our lives. He also did apologize, but he specifically apologized to those that were actually victims of this abuse. Thought it may look like he lost frame, he didn't. He's going to keep growing and being even more relevant from here.

The political circle jerk on this sub continues. Milo had some great points on other things, and definitely had some valid points on issues that were related to the RedPill.

But condoning/speaking about pedophilia in that way is not/should not be considered redpill. If someone were to do something like that to my 13 year old son I would shoot a bullet through his head. I can't believe people are okay with what he said just because he went against "leftists".

This sub needs to understand that although Leftism is dead in the U.S., it isn't a bad idea persay. I work and live in China which has two implications 1) a lot of these debates simply don't happen; universities are centres of learning and not "social justice" 2) I can't get Youtube.

I was on a business trip back to Canada and for 3 or 4 days I mainlined Milo. Ben Shapiro, Gavin McInnes and Joe Rogan.

Has anyone considered that he might be right about what he's saying? Let's dissect the issue: Why is pedophilia wrong? For the same reasons rape is wrong, it's because you're having sex with a person who is incapable of giving consent. Children haven't developed the faculties to make those kinds of decisions for themselves, so until they've reached the age of maturity others make it for them (parents, society.) Now the tricky issue becomes deciding at what point someone goes from child to adult. Our society has decided that point is 18. But that can't possibly be right, at least not universally so. Is it really rape if you have sex with someone who is one day shy of 18? Probably not. Are there some 18, 19, 20 year olds that haven't matured enough to make that kind of decision? Probably. The rule was put into place because it was the best we could come up with. It's probably overly cautious in several cases and not cautious enough in a handful of others. The weird thing is, however, is that if anyone ever questions the logic behind this rule, or tries to point out that there might be some nuance to it, they're labeled a pariah and tarred and feathered. The reality is life is much more fluid than this rigid rule. Teenagers are fucking whether or not we think they should be and they are doing it a lot. When the world was more "savage" girls used to be married off at 13. Isn't it interesting that girls are biologically capable of producing children far before our "age of consent?" Now, someone might argue that just because they are capable of it at a certain time, doesn't mean that is the optimum time for it. Which is true, but on the other hand, the brain does not finish developing until around 25, should make that the new age of consent so we don't risk anyone making a decision before they're able to understand it to the best of their abilities? Because life is messy, we need a compromise. In our society that compromise is consent can be given at the age of 18, ready or not, here they come. But I don't know why it's such faux pas to point out that it is a compromise rather than an iron clad rule handed down from god. Does this mean that we should permit people breaking the law? No, but it doesn't mean that someone who is in violation of the law is automatically doing something immoral, it just means that they have crossed the threshold of risk that society is willing to tolerate. Perhaps society is right the majority of the time, perhaps it's wrong. In Milo's case, he is better positioned than anyone to testify as to whether or not he was able to give consent at that age. He's not arguing that we lower the age of consent, just pointing out that it's not perfect via personal anecdotes. Why should he be burned at the stake for that?
