I am listening to many of the anti-marriage sentiments on this subreddit and the rest of the "manospehere". As a 27/m currently in a happy LTR of 1.5 years with a 25/f I know the easy thing on here is to say "don't marry" etc. but has anyone actually done this successfully? Meaning told your gf you have no plans to marry her but still want to build a life together, kids, etc, just without the marriage?

I realize a conversation like this is quite serious and could mean her leaving for someone that wants all that PLUS a ring, which is something I'll have to accept and move on. Fact is societal pressure weighs on girls immensely, and I know I can deal with the stigma of going through life not marrying but don't think she can.

How did it work out, and how long have you been able to continue to keep her in a no-marriage LTR? I know the positives, but what are the negatives of choosing that path?
