I don't know about you guys, but at times I prefer memes to stay memes: reality is too real for certain things.

Still, facts are facts, and the facts reliably point to one conclusion: physically weak men lean left, physically strong men lean right (unless they're poor).

Study 1 - Price et al. 2017

What it says:

You would expect that men who are strong and/or more attractive would prefer a more individualistic social system, whereas weaker and/or less attractive men would prefer a more egalitarian and redistributionist one. You would also expect this effect to be moderate by wealth i.e. if you're fuck ugly and weak but rich, you probably still want a more individualistic system.

They tested this hypothesis with a sample of 171 men, controlling for factors like time spent lifting weights, and even tried to manipulate the self-perception of strength and/or attractiveness. As it turns out, the hypothesis seems to be correct: stronger and hotter men are less socialist, weaker and uglier one more socialist. Also, manipulating their self-perception in the short terms doesn't yield a significant change in attitudes: it seems that your political opinions are correlated with more entrenched self-perceptions.

Study 2 - Petersen et al. 2013

What it says:

Upper body strength is a strong predictor of fighting ability across human evolutionary history. You would expect that strong males will more actively attempt to acquire resources and endorse social orders that they believe help them in this endavor.

Testing with a sample of men drawn from Argentina, Denmark and the US shows that upper body strength is correlated with support for socialism among men of lower socioeconomic status, and with opposition to socialism among men of higher socioeconomic status.

The first study is rather funny in the memetic sense, i.e. let's laugh at those weakling cuck socialists. The second, however, is more interesting, and helps understand why working class men of the industrial age joined socialistic movements en masse: because they thought that's how they could get their hands on the goodies. At the same time it explains why, nowadays, we see cucked-out skinny fat upper-middle-class kids flocking to the far-left: weaklings of high socioeconomic status are predicted to support egalitarian systems because they think they will best protect what they have.

Conclusions:

  • lifting doesn't just make you stronger and fitter, it also makes you less of a cuck; hence we can scientifically assert that gym bros are a better quality of human being

  • our hindbrains have a far deeper role than we'd like to admit, and simple mechanisms like self-perception of strength can profoundly influence what we'd believe are high-level cognitive behaviors like political partisanship
