Having to do anything in exchange for sex is inherently beta. Your wife would have blown an alpha male and let him bust all over her face even without getting the milkshake.

It worked, but the tactic is not sound.

I would suggest that you avoid negotiations. It reduces the exchange and makes your wife your prostitute and makes you her John. You want her to be your own personal whore.

I think this event helped break the ice. Now make it into something you lead/guide her towards. It's more organic that way.
