I had a similar situation and it ate me up. Here's what happened, what to do, and what really matters, and in that order:

1 - my story

found out she wasn't LTR material at all and had put out to some serious douche bags (tats, piercings, no future, etc). The guy she had been talking to was a guy she hooked up with prior to asking for commitment from me and telling me she loved me. Dunno about cheating but that's a red flag from any direction.
