It's 6am and I just got home so I will be adding details once I get some rest. Basically received the following text from a plate I have been speaking with for a little over 3 months. My main questions as of now are what if at all to respond and what are the chances of actually recovering/retaining this one?

Woah this has blown up. I can not tell you guys how much I appreciate all the advice. I'm running out the door but I wanted to include several crucial pieces of information:

  • At one point about a month in I started seeing her as a potential LTR and pursued her as such. I made my intentions known to her which she made clear she was unsure about.
  • Once I realized that she was not interested in LTR I flipped her back to pure plate and treated her as such.
  • It just so happens that the night before she sent me this text one of her best friends came into town for a concert they are going to this weekend. Clearly she had a influence and I can tell by the writing of the text that it was not her/not all her. The friend most likely had a big role in this.
  • I can say with fairly good certainty that she is not/has not been talking to anyone else. She's only recently moved here for the past several months.
  • She appears to have kept me on snapchat and already is viewing my stories right away.

I know I made mistakes with this one. Now that you guys have that information how does that change things?

Most recent update: She wanted casual the entire time. I started off as that dominant, fun, and indifferent guy. Then I began to rationalize signs/signals as her wanting a relationship when in reality I wanted to lock her down for fear out of losing access to sex and emotional attachment. Ultimately her text/break up was a result of me making her feel like I was too much upkeep and reducing her freedom to do what she wanted whilst having a fun guy to fuck on the side. And of course, chasing her. This is a great lesson to others to be very wary of getting emotionally attached.
