First time: okay no problem let’s try again another time
Second time: alright but I’m not going to keep asking
Third time: cut off contact and move on
Usually I stop talking to them after 2 flakes but if they are really catching my interest then I’ll ask a third time. Never more than that.
[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I like that, your definitely right. It’s like 3 strikes your out
[–]YetzirahToAhssiah 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I like the second time response.
[–]firee98 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
A girl I knew from friends added me on insta. I went into the dms after some time and I asked her out. On that day she texted me 20min before the date and tells me shes probably late and with some friends and I should meet them somewhere else. So I did not go because i was wanting to hangout with her. After that she texted me what im doing and where i am. I made other plans so i didn’t care. After that a week silence she liked my stories n stuff and I ask her out again and told her that she should tell me before if she flakes again. Then the day of the second date she just straight up ignores my messages and acts like she forgot and didn’t See anything. I was pissed. Then a week later she likes my story and two hour later slides into my dm by replying on that story. I just went with a pissed text and asked her what her mission is which she just ignored lmao. You think I should just remove her or ask her out and plan something different so I don’t destroy my evenings? Shes quite attractive Im still hoping, i hate it.
[–]MermaidOfScandinavia 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
As a woman I can say that this girl is not worth your time. She might have truly forgotten about it. But she sounds like an exorsting person to deal with. Forget her looks. She isn't behaving in a manner that I consider responsible. She clearly has some things to deal with and that shouldn't allow your evenings to be ruined. I dealt with flaky people all my life. Male and female. Doesn't matter what context it is. They need to learn that they cannot repeat this behaviour without missing out.
[–]firee98 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thank you. She’s unemployed and a little lost in life i guess. It’s always the prettiest girls that make stuff complicated lmao
[–]MermaidOfScandinavia 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Same with handsome men. Sigh. Haha.
She is probably not so mature yet. Maybe it will be different if you met her by chance in a few years. Right now it's best to stay way. I used to chase complicated men. But now I am with a guy who makes life less complicated and a lot safer.
[–]Marxus_Aurelius 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Those are pretty disrespectful flakes so I would not try again. Don’t remove her for the off chance she initiates something but nah I wouldn’t chase her after she just ignored you like that. I’ll only try a third time if the first two flakes are more understandable than just ignoring you the day of.
[–]LucianU 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It sounds like she chickens out. There's nothing you can do to prevent that, so stop giving her attention.
If she messages you again, you could address this directly: "hey, we tried to meet up twice and you bailed on me both times. Are you uncomfortable with the idea of a date or what's up?" Maybe this will help her relax and actually come to the date.
If that doesn't work, just ask her to come to something that you're doing anyway. That way, if she doesn't show up, it doesn't affect you.
[–]firee98 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Thx. I guess she wont text me because I was a little aggressive. What ever there are plenty other girls.
[–]LucianU 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Aggressive how? In your last message to her?
If she doesn't have any options (and judging by the way she behaves, it's likely she does this with all men she meets), she will contact you again at some point.
Just be aware that this woman is likely to have lots of anxieties around dating. She might not have a healthy attitude towards sex either and have lots of shame towards it, for example.
You're better off dating around. That way, you'll have options and not expect much from her, because you sound at least a little bit needy. This could allow her to relax and open up.
[–]firee98 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I asked her: what her mission is. Because she flaked and ignored me, never said sorry and then randomly slides into my dms ignoring my messages from the day of the date. Idk in swiss german it sounds kinda „aggressive“.
And there is a chance that she’s anxious. But on the other side shes a year older than me and seems to be a „cool kid“.
And yes of course im still doing stuff with other girls im not giving her attention. I just thought if I don’t ask her out again and shes the type of girl that want to be lead by men, it will just not happen.
[–]ittybittyme4u85 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sounds like she might be scared/nervous. She might feel more comfortable the first few times doing a group thing. Trust me I speak from experience. I get so nervous that I will shut down and not talk much because I would be in my head the whike time. Which is not fun for anyone. Do a group thing a few times then she will be able to do 1 on 1.
[–]Longjumping-Goat-348 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You continue to talk to chicks after two consecutive flakes? That’s pretty desperate bro. First time she flakes 90% of the time it’s because she just wasn’t that interested in you to begin with. Two times in a row there’s no doubt she’s just using you for attention or validation.

How successful? You’re still looking.
[–]entericalamity 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree with this. The only thing I would change is if she cancels the date within 5 hours of the time we're supposed to meet up, I cut her out for good unless it's a SUPER good reason.
[–]seddit_seddit 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You know the best solution? Spin more plates. Whining about flaking comes from a scarcity mindset.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Your right, do you just straight up tell her? Like hey this doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere?
[–]seddit_seddit 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No man that's like being needy (and being reactive). The idea is to not provide her attention.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ohh gotcha, i just don’t like to waste time lol so I would just straight up tell her “like look I’m not here to waist your time or mine” I guess your right though what’s your best way of shrugging it off?
[–]loveivy 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Stop trying to make more meetups. Even if I get flaked on for the first time and the girl doesn’t immediately try to reschedule, I’ll give her a chilled reply but not suggest alternatives myself. Wait until she tries to rearrange, and move on with your life. Abundance mindset as the other guy said. Otherwise you run the risk of coming across to the girl like you are placing her on a pedestal, and trust me, she will lose respect for you instantly. If she does not try to rearrange she isn’t that interested.
The girl may have had a genuine excuse, but the more you waste time trying to set up other meet ups with a potential time waster is better spent on people who will reciprocate your energy.
[–]Majestic_Meal_5655 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Woman are addicted to validation, if you are just going to hand it over the phone there is no need to meet with you. Text and phone game is only to "greet" with statements and not conversation. You text to greet and set a date to "meet up". They won't meet up? Then there you go. Now you know who's a validation vampire and flake.
[–]Accomplished_Bed723 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
After the first time id already be pursuing others and say to let me know when they are free. If she wants to meet she will instigate it nothing you can do will swing her either way
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You cut all contact and move on. She’s not into you.
[–]DisneyUp 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You shouldn’t be investing in anyone that doesn’t give you a clear sign of interest. Keep your options open. If you don’t have many options right now, don’t let them know this.
After several rearrangements on their side (you decide the cut off number) you make it clear what your intention is (if you haven’t already), indicate that the ball is in her court but also that you will be investing your time elsewhere until something materialises. This adds subtle pressure that she might be missing out (if she is actually on the fence or playing games). If she’s not interested she won’t care either way and you’ve lost nothing.
“Hey, I’d really like to hang out sometime but after several attempts to put plans together it feels like maybe you’re uncertain of what you want or perhaps I’m just not it. That’s okay, but I’m going to invest my time elsewhere unless I get a heads up that the feeling might be mutual. If it’s not, I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

Only acceptable thing is if she reschedules one day after at the most, without ANY communication (even replies to "hey") until she does so.
And only once.
[–]DeliveryDue5787 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
One day after .. bro that’s a little unfair
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If she cares about the meetup, whe will ask for alternatives right when she cancels. One full day is half a red flag already.
[–]firee98 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You are probably right but some girls are just lost and don’t know what they want. You still could miss an opportunity by being to harsh. On the other site even if it works out you might get hurt by a coldhearted girl like that.
[–]DeliveryDue5787 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So ur saying unless she tries to reschedule the next day she’s not interested
Ok nvm I thought u were saying meet up one day after
[–]CompetitionFair7686 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
That tends to stop when you stop having one minute conversations with them in your cold approaches and actually take some decent time to get to know them first.
[–]Atamya 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yea how about the girl i talked for like 1 and a half month. Just to be flaked or more importantly ghosted by her when i tried to meet with her irl? (i knew her from my highschool but she was 1 year below me so i didnt knew her before we both graduated.) And i want to add she was the one saying things like lets meet when we go to our hometown in a week.
[–]CompetitionFair7686 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Talking one and a half month over text is dumb and a waste of time, talking needs to happen in person and you need to kiss her rather quickly not after a month has passed.
If you want girls meet them in real life not over the internet. Online dating is less effective than meeting girls face to face from the start. If you meet girls through online apps then most will flake even if you talk for a whole year
you need to cold approach
[–]Atamya 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The reason we talked via text was we lived very far from each other (aprox. 2 hour drive). But i agree with you about the cold approach. All the girls i lost was because i was a nice guy. And i think it is the reason im still single (21M , 3 years since i had any relationship. The stuff i wrote happened nearly 4 months ago)

Bruh, ask a Fisherman how to fish and not a fish lol
[–]CompetitionFair7686 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Said the guy who can’t fish
I'm curious to hear alternative explanations
[–]CocoBabeNYC 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What do you consider a flake?
[–]i_love_crazy_hobos 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Try to arrange a meetup 2 or max 3. If she's not meeting up to you then, just delete her number and forget about her.
You need to be having many many phone numbers that you're running through, and you get this by going out alot, and trying to get the number as often as possible.
[–]Calamity__Bane 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I just stop talking to her unless there’s something else I’m getting from the exchange.
Flakes boil down to one or more of the following:
The way to solve this is basically to cut all contact until she calls you (if at all). What you should be doing is telling her what time you have available (which is very limited, you are busy) and tell her where you will be IF she wants to come and hang out. That place is usually going to be a quiet bar near your place (or some other quiet place) where you will be doing something you always would be doing anyway - so if she doesn't show, you aren't going to care. This prevents flaking and tempting immature women to stand you up, because you imply that you don't care if she doesn't show.Furthermore if she doesn't show, you aren't going to call her up any more. The ball is now in her court.
If she flakes twice, I typically let her lead after that, and they never do.
[–]Stujitsu2 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't stop them you just move on as quickly as possible.
[–]SnooPets1514 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As simple as this: if she flakes and doesn't give me a reason, I'm nexting her.
Have options and make plans with multiple women, you plan 7, 5 cancel you still have 3
[–]Sup3rHD 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
1 flake= ghost her for life. If she text me and beg to meet, maybe i will accept. Flake= disrespect.
[–]SeanBatemanJr 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
It depends on your willingness to spend your time to get through this barrier. You can have a list of flaky girls who you write with offer to meet up once a week. If you’re not lazy, you can repeat it week after week for months. Some will meet you in the end, just like some people will buy product after seeing commercial on TV again and again (I remember one girl never or rarely even answered my weekly texts with offers to meet, but agreed to go out after 6 months — it was in the times of me being much more disciplined and experimental). Or you can follow the philosophy of not spending too much energy on girls who don’t respond right away. It all depends on your priorities and how interested you are in getting the specific girl out. P.S.: Sometimes if a girl is really busy (and a lot of times they are, they are not lying) it’s smart to try thinking of location and time that is more convenient for her (for example near her work on a break) — especially for the first meeting, after which it most of the time becomes much easier to meet because of more psychological investment on a part of the girl.

I’ve experienced endless time wasters I’ve got a one strike rule. No fucks given. One girl I was talking too off tinder months ago no showed I deleted her straight away
