If the answer isn't a clear YES, then the answer is NO. Don't waste time on someone that either isn't so into you they say F'YEAH or isn't mature enough to give a clear answer. Don't waste time on people who play games. Move on to someone who's really interested and mentally ready for the type of relationship you want.

I agree and it’s like she wasn’t very explicit with her response which means she’s kinda on the fence.
[–]autonomousfailure 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This, this, so much this.
[–]truenseeker 109 points110 points111 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Had a situation like this, responded with a “lmao damn, I just got rejected hard” and she responded with a “sorry, didn’t mean to make it sound like That” and we ended up going to a concert the following week.
[–]willgo-waggins 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah this is one good way to handle it although you make a really easy out if you do.
Another is to simply be straight and tell her that you are really interested in moving in the direction of getting to know each other better but you aren’t trying to pressure her. That has worked very well for me with my girl as she was very gun shy and skittish early in coming from a bad break off of an engagement and me from a LTR I was also wanting to take out time.
Now after six months things are moving along nicely toward a commitment.

but did u get punay?
[–]CompetitionFair7686 64 points65 points66 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
When she says that she is is treating you as a kid rather than as a man… She just emasculated you. It’s like she is saying “Awww, look at him wanting to play adult, how sweet”.
This usually happens when you don’t flirt from the beginning and instead let time pass and suddenly ask her out…
For one month you behaved platonically putting yourself in the friendzone, and suddenly you decided it was time to make it man to woman.

this girl was a lot different to any other girl
Food for thought: Have you ever thought of a guy you met, "this guy is a lot different, so I'm going to have to treat him different"
Be open and clear with your intentions, if it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't, but treat her like you would anyone else. Trust me, I've got the scars to prove it
[–]willgo-waggins 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nah I totally disagree with that.
You have to treat each person as an individual and judge accordingly how you interact with them.
If I had pushed hard four months ago, I would have made a huge mistake and guaranteed to lose her. Instead I backed things off and actually friend zoned HER for a month or two while I let her build attraction for me and get her nervousness and trust issues worked out. Sure enough when she came back around there was not only no hesitation but she was ready to declare her feelings and intentions much quicker.

I typically treat people differently depending on the social context and how they behave. I don’t roast all my bros the same way. I’m the same person, but I don’t even use the same accents or discuss the same subjects with different bros.
[–]willgo-waggins 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Can’t disagree with this. She is likely buying some time because you caught her off guard with something totally unexpected from where you were.
Difference in my situation that I described above is that we were having sex from the second time together on so there was NEVER a question of that aspect of our interaction. Yes we are very close loving friends as well, but we are FWB with feelings for some time with the caveat that if it went along and developed well it would become more when we were both ready to be exclusive and committed.

WTF OP?? .. Dude ask her “was that a yes or no?” .. women always expect us guys to be clear with our comments & responses so should they .. message her now & ask her out again Op and get a clear response ..
[–]willgo-waggins 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That’s a sure way to guarantee a hard no. Back her into a corner.
[–]cxa3296 58 points59 points60 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
ask her “was that a yes or no?” .. women always expect us guys to
If she can't answer clearly, she's probably not mature enough to bother with.
[–]willgo-waggins 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Uhhhh they sound pretty young so that’s really kind of not a qualifier.
[–]anotherwayoflife 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
im all for direct communication, but to be fair we don't know if her "awww" is a maturity issue, it could just be that OP is a big aggressive and she's scared of the backlash or awkwardness. Like sure, a great person will take that backlash or awkwardness on the chin, but you can't really blame someone fully for not wanting to shoot somebody else down. (Sorry OP i don't mean offense by this in anyway just covering all bases)
[–]TTV-DontEvnTrip 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You friendzoned yourself, you said “talking to a girl for a month, just asked her out” first off if it takes you an entire month to show your real intentions you are going about relationships all wrong. You need to make your intentions clear from the start, you tried being too passive and friendly and now asking for a date is awkward. Next time you like a women make your move fast and be direct.
[–]Point-Overall 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Just ask her “are you free tonight/tommorow night?” That will get her to take the hint.
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I probably would have assumed that probably meant yes and started making plans to see if she shut them down or went with it.
Also if your not as bold and don't want to just act and see what happens. You can always just ask her if that was a yes or no on going out sometime.
[–]iluvreddit 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sorry op, awww is a no with 97% probability. Ignore her for a few weeks and she if she misses the attention and asks you out. You are being way too nice to her.
[–]simbuah 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Meditate for 10 minutes, accept your anxiety/fear/thoughts and then write whatever you feel like writing afterwards.
Don't overthink it, but to me that sounds positive
[–]willgo-waggins 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed. This is the way.
[–]Sure_Philosophy_7171 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You should've assumed she wanted to go with you bcz of course she did and take it as a yes

[–]JudgeDreadTheLaw 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Just say "Let me know when you're available" and end it there, don't ask or talk about it anymore. Girls are not stupid to forget something like that, so if she's down she'll definitely let you know. The reason why we don't pursue or follow up on the date invitation is because it makes you look like someone who has nothing better going on in his life and that date is everything to you. Also girls aren't good at rejecting so don't put her in a spot where she has to because it makes her uncomfortable. In the meantime, dont put your mind too much on it, focus elsewhere (like for real, be busy) and treat her like normal but toned down a little like "Have a good day" to "Talk to you later". Keep it short like how you would text when you're busy
[–]Equal-Drawing481 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
To be honest, Aww is awesome!
She thinks you were her friend then you fell in love with her. Now you have to escalate properly, else you’ll be friendzoned af and you can move on.
To escalate, i will recommend you to take everything playfully and turn it into double meanings (safe) or sexual.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
If she doesn't respond with something similar to "omg yes" or "I thought you'd never ask," then don't pursue anything further. Chances are that she'll eventually start giving you the slow fade.
[–]willgo-waggins 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Not a shy or not forthcoming girl. That is a processing answer to me and needs to be gently clarified.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If she doesn't answer the question - like she didn't - and instead responds with "aww," the unspoken end of the response can be interpreted as "that's sweet of you to suggest, but no."
[–]willgo-waggins 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
And she continues with pursuit and action insofar as contact and interest?
Yeah I’m sorry but I never have that happen if they aren’t actually interested. They either outright ghost or just fade away. They do not continue to initiate contact and pursue.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Who said she's pursuing him? Texting first doesn't mean she's pursuing.
They do not continue to initiate contact and pursue
Its possible that she's trying to see/decide if she's interested, but her not answering the question means "no" or "not right now."
[–]willgo-waggins -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Whatever you think.
[–]Dracron 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So, many people trying to act like she committed some kind of disqualifying act. She isn't thinking about it nearly as deeply as a lot of the guys here. If that was the only thing that you have an issue with and everything else she's doing makes it seem like she's into you then act like she's into you.
Sometimes "awww" means she thinks it was cute or sweet which is not a bad thing. Sometimes it means other things, but everything else you have mentioned says to me that your still in a good place with her.
Finish making plans and if she dodges making plans too hard then start thinking about moving on.
To your first line of your second paragraph (sorry for some reason I have trouble with copy and paste here in the phone).
Just a few days ago my girl (we’ve been together six months now) and I were talking about me taking my son and his friends out for his 21st birthday and how he had come to me before going to bed in tears and was thanking me for everything and for being his father and she replied “Awwww that is so sweet!” With a bunch of hearts and lovey faces because she was just thinking that.
The girl is shy and she likely is a bit overwhelmed as introverted people often are and is simply responding with her initial feeling. Everything else points to definite interest.
[–]Lakeyute 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Tell her you’re still waiting for an answer and proceed from there
[–]cass2769 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would ask her why she said that. JuT say that was a strange response and why did she respond that way.
My guess is that she views you as a friend…so if you are open to just being friends just do that but if you are only interested in her romantically then it may be best to cut ties.
[–]Fit_Material42069 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
no answer means yes. If it was no, she'd say no.
[–]Cowboylion -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She’s thinking about it. Just not sure yet. If you like her give it time.
[–]cronasminate -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She's undecided. Don't commit. Invest into someone else. That simple.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
that's not a good sign :/
[–]anotherwayoflife 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
i woud advise against pressuring her to give you a yes or no, lol. If she's too "nice" to say no then like it's a 80% chance she rejected you.. but you have a tiny chance to redeem this if you act cool and just say something like "well, anyway I'm interested in getting to know you on another level so I'll give you time to think it through." and just don't talk to her again until she answers lol.
Like it's a kinda shitty situation, you may have wanted to go romantic but maybe waited a little too long and she thought you were friends and didn't want to lose the friendship or make things awkward.
[–]snappop69 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don’t think of the idea of asking asking her out on a date. Just confidently suggest you meet up in real life for a drink or coffee or whatever. Don’t overthink it or make it a big deal.
[–]BigShuggy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is usually the sort of post where I would just scroll because it seems super obvious but I’m procrastinating cleaning so here goes.
When do we typically say aww? To something cute, to an animal, to something we feel sympathy for, to a child trying it’s best at something etc. This is how she sees you. What you do next should directly relate to this fact.
You can try and get a real answer like some of the other guys have suggested but to be honest I don’t see it going well because she already doesn’t respect you and if she was to say yes it’d likely be out of pity. That just makes the whole thing even more awkward in the future. Whatever you do don’t try and hide the fact that you’re bummed out that she blew you off and don’t feel obligated to hang out with her if it’s difficult given your feelings. You took a shot and missed. Maybe she’ll come around and at that point you take another one but in the meantime there are plenty of other girls on earth.

So what I'm gathering here from the comments is that asking a girl out after you become friends is basically a no go compared to asking them out in the beginning of the friendship?
[–]RosicruciaN1337 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No they are all shit tards... you can ask her out whenever u feel like it. Perhaps you just dumped your gf of six months and now you can finally ask this chic out who you noticed was cute. You can evem tell her that. Long story boring, you need not get caught up over these little details. Get in great shape and self improve with a focus on intelligence and financial prosperity and women will start appearing in your life and it will be difficult not to bang them. If you aren't a totally deformed or disabled person its pretty easy and if you are there is still many men who have pulled it off and gotten a happy marriage to boot...
You may never accomplish your dreams if ur caught up thinking about women and what they think. If ur chasing women you can lose all your money too.. but you will never lose women while chasing your dreams (and earning money)

Invite her to something she really likes or wants to do and then dont show up.
Here are some excuses you can use:
I have a stomach ache
I have a headache or migraine
my grandmothers sick
can we get together another time?
[–]htd112 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don’t waste your time. Hit the gym and focus on you. She’ll come around
[–]btrpb 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You took too long. You should have polarised her earlier. Like after a couple of days. You're already in the friend zone.
