There's a small portion of men that would truly qualify for this title. Most of them are people that are mentally retarded, severe psychological illness, burn victims, missing limbs, handicapped, midgets, autism, etc. No amount of "game" can make these very real issues disappear.

The "incels" you are referring to are on a different level. Most of these guys lack options for reasons that are totally fixable. Most of them often are very physically unhealthy and lack a masculine vibe and and appearance. Many of them are emotionally unhealthy, very insecure and depressed, hold negative values that pushes women away. Many of them lack basic social skills. They have addictions, consume a lot of porn, lots of bad habits. They are generally all around unattractive men and carry a negative energy that pushes people away. Most of them are genetically competent, but they let themselves go. Then factor in a bad attitude, bad childhood, insecurities, addictions, traumatic experiences, lack of social skills, bad presentation...why would a woman want to sleep with a guy like that?

The biggest piece of the puzzle here, is that even with all these setbacks, most of these guys STILL have options. They just don't realize it. Many of these guys could pull "ugly" or even average girls with similar issues but they don't even pick up on it because they can't read women's social cues. Even if they could read women's social cues, they still don't pick up on it becasue they put all their focus on the hot girls and don't even notice the ugly girls that would be open to dating them because they don't even look at them to begin with.

Yes they exist but 99.99% of the time it’s not because of looks. All of them have the same shitty attitudes towards women and they usually give up after a few rejections. They have a terrible “woe is me, I deserve pussy because I’m nice” outlooks on life and therefore they never get any coochie.

Sure. I have a facial deformity, I've been balding since my teen years, and I failed to teach myself proper social skills until recently. I'm also out of shape, still rebuilding my wardrobe, and I'm broke.

I used to blame society's pettiness for my problems (they would give me bad advice on purpose, or ignore me) but now I'm working hard to get money, surgery, a better lifestyle, better social skills, a better body, and most of all: a sense of pride that no one cares about me (instead of thinking that's a bad thing... somehow)

I have a friend who fucked six classically hot women in a month and he not only has the classic "incel" features people obsess about on the forums (retruded maxilla, cratered acne skin, sunken eyes, balding, anorexically skinny, not to shit on the guy but he is everything insecure men on the internet say is unfuckable) but he also rocked a literal BOWL CUT while doing it. He's just a playful guy who isn't afraid to hit on someone he likes. I also have a friend who is categorically a "chad" (like looks like viking matt damon) and it is a huge advantage for him, cashiers hit on him that kind of thing, so there is a difference due to looks particularly wrt how strangers treat you on first meeting. But... both of them have thriving sex lives of both long and short term encounters, despite accessing them through different ways.

I am not saying looks don't matter, but I think these communities in general attract insecure men with obsessive tendencies (and/or are on the autism spectrum), or traumatic experiences with women or backgrounds of social and emotional neglect, who make incredibly high-resolution theories about how sexual dynamics work to tell the story of why there's no hope for them (or conversely, develop elaborate routines and manuals of "game" to try and obsess their way back into relating socially to people). In reality, their problems are much more about mental barriers to relating to other people, or of obsessive body image problems, that can have all kinds of subtle intangible feedback effects on how they treat themselves, how people treat them, how they react to people reacting to them etc. There's a TED talk from a guy with no legs and a fucked up face from being born a cyclops and he has a loving wife and two kids. Obviously life has been harder for him but if he was not shut out of experiencing sex and romance then like, I don't think anybody is truly doomed to that.

This is a tough and ultimately bad question to ask in the first place. See people will just want to believe incels are bad and wrong, so they'll make a literally unverifiable and unfalsifiable statement like "anyone can date if they put forth enough effort and work on themselves."

There are plenty of other scenarios similar to this. Eg, many believe anyone who does psychedelic drugs and has a psychotic break absolutely has to have had a pre-existing, latent mental health issue, that way psychedelic drug use isn't portrayed negatively. Another, from the opposite side of the aisle politically: many people who believe in God, when challenged on why God will permit bad things to happen, will say "it's part of his bigger plan;" or when a person questioning prays often for guidance/help and doesn't find it, will say "search your own heart; maybe it's not time yet." (I can feel the leftists getting offended at how I've exposed the similarity of their worship of psychedelia to religion.)

It seems there's just no way to know the answer to your question. That's the only honest answer you're going to get here.

As someone who’s considered attractive by most, I still get laid way less than my below average looking roommate. He’s tallish (5’11 to my 5’10) and that’s about all he has going for him in the looks department.

In my limited opinion ANYONE no matter how ugly they are can find someone who wants to have sex with them and/or fall in love with them, of course being ugly is gonna negatively impact your prospects of having developed strong social skills and standing as well as ability to make connections/be flirty with girls, but imo lust and/or love can emerge for anyone. If you've got a chick who values confidence/other attributes high enough that offsets the ugliness of the guy sufficiently for her (some girls esp ones that aren't the most attractive themselves might be a lot more likely to fall into this) then the game is on if this guy in question has the means and drive to establish the connection and the chemistry is there.
