Totally agree with this post. I don’t think canned “lines” will ever really work. It has to be contextual and tailor made for that person. And it definitely can’t be anywhere near as creepy as the examples you listed. It’s really just about talking to people and being witty.

Pick up lines could work if they fit the situation shouldn’t be forced. Majority of men can pull them off without it being weird so better off just introduce yourself and exchange contacts

yeah i think one of the issues is that its redditors looking for hookup advice from other redditors looking for hookup advice so you get a lot of misguided attempts.

one thing i know is that its less about the actual line and more about how comfortable you are with yourself and the circumstances. but yeah i wouldnt touch those lines with a ten foot pole

The best line to use is just "hey, are you having a good time?" or compliment something they're wearing. That's it.

The problem with PUA mindset is thinking there's a line that'll work most of the time. So they say something that's cringy, desperate or sleazy. They need to accept there's no magic pill.

The truth with cold approach is, you have to show interest but not go overboard. So saying "OMG, you're so cute, I just have to say hi" is stupid. Humans are programmed for subtle interaction. Coming out and just saying it is tacky and borderline mentally ill.

On the other hand, doing an opinion opener is also stupid because nobody goes up and just ask a random person a question. I don't know what all those first generation PUAs are thinking with their Mystery Method stuff.

So to sum up, you wanna show interest but not do it in an overt bombastic way. Like everything in life, there's a happy medium.

you don’t need to be shakespeare to pull girls, you said it yourself, most guys who get laid aren’t the smartest or the smoothest they don’t say anything super special or super witty, they say those things or even more simple stuff and ti works because it’s about the vibe you convey when you say it.

Also the context in which those lines are said matters too, if you haven’t shared a word with a girl and the first thing you say is that it probably isn’t good, however if you have been talking for 20 minutes or more and you begin to say similar things to that it can work to build sexual tension.

In other words, you probably should not cherry pick those examples and actually pay attention to the whole advice they are offering because seduction isn’t just about saying a line, it’s about the context and what you have been building up to before you say those specific lines.

They are not opening lines, they are lines used to break tension after you have spend time building comfort and qualifying the girl first for a while.

As for the “you look like a snack and i’m starving” the problem there is the “starving” thing as to at makes you sound needy and even creepy, but you looking like a snack said with the right delivery and tone at the right moment can do wonders.

You see? The problem with reading examples is that you try to read them as you would normally speak, and the people who write those things are reading it the way they would say it.

And the way in which you say those same things matters a lot, you might read it in a robotic dull way, while they might read it in an insinuating suggestive way, and the tone changes completely as well as how it is taken by her.

But overall yes, women aren’t testing you to see if you can be as witty as shakespeare, most girls are not that smart, and any stupid silly thing you say to them can work, as long as you are making them feel emotions and they are having fun with you.
