So it's back to school and I walk in to the library, a beautiful black girl walks opposite me on her way out. She smiles at me. She wasn't wearing a backpack so I knew she was just running to the bathroom and that she would be back. I sit in a corner to study. I see her walk in and she sits back at her place on an opposite corner of the library. I know I have to go talk to her. Luckily she is not in plain sight and is blocked by a bunch of bookcases. I go over and pretend to be browsing the books next to her. I see that an Asian guy is sitting two seats to the right of her. Oh no! What if he hears me?! I look again and he has headphones in absorbed in his laptop, I knew this was a bs excuse. The librarian makes his rounds again around the perimeter of the library and starts where we are. I go over to her. "Hey I'm sorry to bother you, I just thought you were very cute, I had to meet you." She says thank you, shakes my hand, we exchange names and then she says that I'm cute too. "What?!" I thought, "girls never say that to me!" So I stupidly said, 'nah you're just saying that'. I realize only afterwards how bad this was. It shows her you're un-confident, that you're not used to hearing this from girls - But most of all it's insulting to the person giving the compliment. It's like you're calling her a liar. Just smile, accept the compliment and say thank you. Anyways, 10 seconds into the interaction, to my left I hear the librarian say a loud "Sir!". Fuck I thought. I was sure he was talking to me. My instinct told me he was about to come and tell me that I can't be hitting on girls in the library and that I need to leave. I turn my head and no, he was just trying to wake up another student sleeping in the library. Lol. It's funny how we perceive the spotlight is on us every time we go talk to a girl. No one cares. Anyways, I continue talking, joking with her. She asked me questions about me. She then says "alright well I got to get back to studying, would you like my number?" Awesome I thought. I hand her my phone, asking if she knows about a date spot I want to take her to. She saves herself as a contact and types in her last name. I say "wow last name too? You must really dig me." She laughs. I'll be texting her in a little bit, hopefully she responds...
