I was thoughtless and I'm glad you write s'ok but. Anyway, my apology is sincere and not flippant.

For what it's worth, I've fallen in love twice in my life, and lost one of those loves. I've had countless lovers. I can't say that this feeling in the poem is mine.

The poem triggers in me feelings of longing, want, envy, inadequacy, of questioning of my own existing relationships. Did I mention longing?

Anyway, I really do apologize. I've ruined this conversation I think.

And with that push/pull, seduction over, which was clear from her very next reply, where she as much as came out and admitted that the poem had made her cry and that she clearly was not ready for love and wanted something physical fast. Once we started talking about that, the deal was done. We slept together the next day (last night).
