Hi, I (29M) have been seeing a girl (25) for about a month. We even took a three day trip together and got back Sunday. After the trip, she texted me out of the blue:

“I just wanted to say thank you times a million for being such a kind hearted and patient person… you are so sweet snd charming and I have the absolute best time in your company and arms”

Now, I haven’t heard from her since Tuesday night, and I’m almost positive I am being ghosted. I knew she had a family thing Monday that would occupy her, but otherwise, the silence is shocking.

I am trying to understand - why might this happen? We are not anything officially, but she has been very affirming and validating to that point, and the above text was a “Wow, this is getting real” moment for me. I am giving her space now but may send a follow up text in time, but I’m trying to make sense of the hurt and confusion from such a vulnerable text to radio silence. I expect to hear the “move on” advice, but beyond that, I want to understand the cause and avoid this issue in the future.
