While you there read some books bro. I am reading "No More Mr Nice Guy" right now and it mentions this wanting to be different or alone as a fear of being rejected/abandoned or not accepted. Occasionally chilling by yourself is good to recharge the batteries and don't feel, bad about it. But when it becomes extreme like you never go out I would say there is an issue. Secondly according to the book "The way of men" we survive best when we are in a tribe. So I don't thing think there is anything wrong with you at 16 and no pressure to get social. But I suspect that you are not totally happy and sense you need approval for being alone or with people. Explore these ideas but don't put pressure on yourself to be or do anything. You young enjoy that.

I was like you in highschool until my senior year. The immaturity of most girls at that age was a big turn off for me. I changed in college and now I can appreciate what girls offer in a relationship

Everyone has different sex drive levels. I also had no passion for talking to girls when I was 16 - even though its not like they didnt try to talk to me. I wish I had the drive to workout that young so good for you!

When I was 19 it was like switch flicked and suddenly became more girl obsessed. And those feelings come and go. It's not about it being consistent

Hormones will do that. Most guys your age are interested in getting laid more than anything else. They also effect everyone a bit differently, maybe you are just on the lower end of the bell curve. Do you not have that same desire?

You need only to worry about yourself, unless you desire otherwise.

Women are always gonna be there and there is no rush to find one (or even men if you are into them).

Just live your life, try to feel better about yourself, and don't worry about other people having girlfriends. Most of them at a young age are just insecure of themselves so they seek validation in others.

you should consider your lack of blind lust a towering strength—instead of frivolously investing a large portion of your most valuable resources, (time, effort, energy etc.) you can capitalize by using that time to build a better future for yourself and your loved ones through cultivating an understanding of yourself, how you relate with existence, and what you want to make of your life. I.e. through self-discovery and lifestyle design.

Lastly, one of the most important beliefs I've cultivated is that everyone has opinions that are often heavily weighted with irrational bias, therefore the cultivation of my own understanding through investigation should be considered in the highest regard—so I can live a truly healthy, abundant and effective life.

I wouldn't worry about anything. If you're interested in something other than girls, just focus on that. If you become more interested in girls later, then you can start focusing on them at that time. If and when you become interested, check out these mindsets to help get you started.
