This is my suggestion:

If you’re still a beginner, or you lack social skills, any canned openers is good for you. Giving a compliment falls into this category. At least it’s better than nothing. So you have something in mind that would get you mentally prepared. The goal is not to get laid or have a woman attracted to you. The goal is to have you familiarized with approaching and social interactions.
If you’re used to approaching and your social skills are somehow a bit above average, situational openers are much better for you. The reason is you no longer depend on scripted lines, but your own observations on her and the surroundings. What she’s wearing, what she’s doing, what she looks like, what color her hair is, where she is, etc. By observing you are basically doing the active listening even before she speaks. Down the road the conversation you’ll have will be an improved one. This is how people can look natural with their social and seduction skills. They can come up quickly with any conversation topic because they listen and watch carefully.

That's because seduction is an art, not a science. Everyone has a different style and all of them can work depending on their personalities. So instead of trying to find the right method, you can choose the one that resonates more with who you are or who you want to be.

Because that's ultimately what seduction is about, it's not really about what type of man a particular woman wants, its more about what type of man you want to be regardless of what a woman wants.

One day you will develop your own style that is influenced by some of those mentors, but also tweaked with your own particular personality.
