So I've been in a slump as far as approaches go lately, but last night I decided to talk to a girl sitting at the bar. Turned out she was my friend's date, but I made friendly small talk as my friend came around.

I noticed that she seemed distant and disinterested... Tough to keep the conversation going. I tried but it fizzled out with her constantly looking away. Huh. Ok, well i don't really care because I'm not going to pursue her anyway (friend has been seeing her for a few dates now).

TURNS OUT SHE HAS SOCIAL ANXIETY

Yup. I talked to my buddy later on in the night, and I didn't even mention her being distant and whatnot, but he tells me "yeah dude she's uber shy. She actually has pretty big social anxiety issues and the only reason she came out is because I really pressured her to."

The entire time I'm thinking I'm making it awkward, etc, and the girl has social anxiety. Rejection doesn't always have to do with you, don't take it to heart or fear it.

Now I need to practice what I preach and kill this fucking slump.
