Men without Women: What is your perspective?

I dunno if it's that black and white. I've seen guys settle into a relationship mainly out of convenience and just let themselves go completely. I've also seen single guys kinda give up and let themselves go as well. It's hard to say whether or not it's more prevalent in single guys or guys in relationships, but it's always sad to see. I think it's more of a mental health problem than a relationship status problem tbh.

I'm fn depressed. I was a serial monogamist, and stopped dating to get my mind right and just began this downward spiral. I don't even have the strength to get out of bed to cook or shower. I hate it.

I'm without woman. But this time, because I chose it. I was not happy with her. So, I saw no legit reason to keep the relationship up.

But that's exactly the reason why I ended the relationship: I was not happy. I wasn't happy even before I met her. I'm really depressed. And I think I'll never be happy in my life.

They are sad and sometimes depressed that they are missing out on a massive part of life others take for granted, but many accept it with a heavy heart and move on. Women sadly have become very quick to attack, vilify, shame and blame guys when they don't get what they want.

while continually whingeing about how life is unfair.

This is an example of not giving someone a basic level of respect, jumping straight to attacking and putting 0 effort into understanding them.

This is backhanded. I don't know any guys who use or abuse drugs, I think it says a lot more about op.

What gives you the right to dictate how someone else should spend their free time?

TLDR:

1) Cutting someone down is easy, building someone up is very hard.

2) If you don't show others a basic level of care and respect they shouldn't give you any

3) If you kick people when they are down, you are absolute trash.

I’m without women because I was a depressed sap who didn’t do anything about it. Now I’m trying harder to do more. Not just for women though. You won’t make much use of this life if you don’t put it some effort and go through a bit of pain

Honestly I’m enjoying it. Funnily enough, when I was with my last girlfriend I felt less motivated and generally more “restricted.” Now I don’t have to worry about what anyone else wants to eat, or do, or watch. I still clean up after myself, take good care of my hygiene, and hit the gym regularly. But I do those things for me, because I’ve decided they’re important and worth doing. I’m sure there are others more like what you described, but I’m choosing to not be committed and it’s pretty sweet.

There’s plenty of examples of dudes who were born with a huge advantage in the dating world and who are objectively shitty people. It’s not a black and white thing.

Look at many frat and sorority people whose parents pay for their way through college (and in life). They have an abundance of confidence and look nice yet they’re flagrant narcissists. Obviously not all people in Greek life but the stereotypes definitely have some credence to them (hazing, college rape stories, and illegal drug usage/selling).

And I know wealthy people who are fat and lazy, and some who take great care of themselves and get shit done. I know old and young in both camps. Pick any external factor and you can draw some correlation. That doesn't mean there's a causation. Most couples I've observed are both overweight by 30. Doesn't mean getting married means you'll get fat.

I like it, "wasting away" that's a little judgemental and not really on base. Sure I only earn 10% or less of what I could, but I still do exactly what I want and I only have to work 3-4 months a year. If I had a woman I'd be going to work just to get away from my own house and coming home to find out I have "plans" I didn't know about for my evening. I love women though, but why would a self respecting man keep one around?

I think there is men who are sad, depressed and let themselves go. Theres also men who are doing their own thing. Thats more were i fit in. Im not big on the dating scene anymore but im still at the gym, still working on my career and if a girl comes around, well ill know how to approach/ talk to her.

I play in a band and i am young, i travel and dont have time and i like being free.

I have had long term before and am on good terms with exes but I dont want stuck down for the sake of doing that.

I get where your coming from though, i think its just that feeling of i need to provide for you and your partner.

One thing left out here is discipline as an addition to the conversation.

Discipline something that through early life experience just is part of my being.. discipline is doing it anyway when ya don't want to, when there is no motivation ya just get your ass up and do it.
Never really gave that much thought until hearing an influencer speaking about it on his podcast, he also wrote a book on the subject.

I've been single and happy about it for a couple years. I'm in good shape, have a good sleep schedule, and am working towards my financial goals. Finally got my first job as a web dev this year too (been learning to code since 2019).

Motivation is internal, not external. Anyone can be lazy and anyone can get after it. Relationship status has nothing to do with it. No one can give you motivation.

I got three gf’s and do nothing but play Warzone, jerk it to milf porn and sell dope. I actively avoid them but they will just come over anyways if they suspect I’m experiencing any joy. Then they stay, go through my phone, smell my bed and check my sink for hairs. Finally I throw it into them and pretend my Mom is sick so they will leave and I can finish playing my game in peace.

Not that black and white. Plenty of married men (the definitive end of "being with a woman") do exactly the unproductive behaviors you describe. Some are even worse, because now they're trapped. Even guys with a semi-controlling gf exhibit this.

A man's attitude toward life and ambition if a product of MANY factors, and a woman being present is just one of them.
