I think drinking as a crutch is a problem, but drinking because it's just something you enjoy doing isn't. Getting shit faced is just never a good idea, but I thoroughly enjoy good beer, wine, and whiskey. I'm not going to feel guilty for being a hedonist, I'd feel guilty for being an alcoholic.

Being sober at a bar while trying to pick up drunk chicks should be a crime.

Obviously getting shit faced is a detriment, but having some drinks and enjoying yourself is ideal.

Guys who are anti drinking while simultaneously playing bar game are the lowest form of loser I can think of.

It's okay to drink, but too much will affect your game. It's inevitable, you'll eventually fuck up when you won't want to because of lack of judgement/filter/etc.

Having to be drunk to be effective is a problem and indicative of inner game issues. Most men are able to approach women drunk, few can do it sober. That doesn't mean you shouldn't drink at all, because that's just stupid.

Realistically, at night, there's about a 2-3 hr window in which something can happen. After a certain amount of time passes, either the girls have been approached so many times that they're unresponsive, or they've gone home.

For actionable advice, drink mildly in the beginning of the night and as the number of opportunities decreases, drink more.

unless u have an alcohol problem, i think its fine to have a reasonable amount of alcohol, like for me i find im most on my game at 3-5 shots, but still sober enough that I won't be hungover in the morning

Depends on your priorities man. If you just want to get laid a bunch while you can and you don't mind having drunk sex then go get drunk and enjoy life.

If I try to understand the situation you're in based on your post though, I'd say the guys you go out with are either too self interested or they just suck at teaching game because I know for a fact that there are methods to get you to the point where you can get into state sober just after seeing a girl you find attractive. You wont even need to warm up or anything and it doesn't matter what point you start at, even if you think you're the biggest pussy on the planet when you're sober. These methods are not even exclusive to the best of the best coaches, they are pretty common among the community.

Also, this might be laziness on your part or just a fear or hesitance to do what is necessary because you define yourself in your post. You say you do nothing and you're a coward when you're sober. That is something I see from guys who are just starting. Besides, most guys that do this are terrified to talk to women at first but everyone can get over that.

And you might not really be thinking as long term as you believe. Because if you were, you would see that spending $20 cover for a few crappy nights is a small investment for the things you can gain out of learning from this body of knowledge if you play your cards right.

Here's how you do that. Realize that the seduction community is like the fitness community. There are people in it that know their shit and can guide you toward the right path but there are also people in it who are fucking ridiculous who will teach you things that'll make you worse than when you started. So treat it like the fitness community. Don't just take random advice from any random PUA guy (just like there are random gym guys that offer advice), instead use your head and try to figure out which advice can help you and which advice wont.

If you like drinking, go ahead. If you enjoy getting shitfaced, go ahead. Just be aware that you (probably, eh) won't be drunk afterwards if your interaction with a girl continues.

Personally, I stopped drinking because the alcohol actually slowed me down and got me lazy, so I'd just buzz around, chill and never approach anything because I was perfectly content. Plus, it's healthier this way.

I've met up with a bunch of "PUA" guys. They are pretty anti drinking.

Unsurprising. They're trying to push the envelope, probably, and take social risks. They NEED to be fully cognizant of what's going on as they do so. They need to be aware of themselves and in control of their bodies. And they need to be interacting with someone who's able to give meaningful consent.

All of which are harder to do the drunker everyone gets.

Then this is the reality. If you're a coward while sober, you have issues to work on that simply getting drunk aren't going to fix.

No, you're not. You're just taking your eyes off the ball. It's almost certain that you're nowhere near as aware of the world around you, nor as able to react as well and effectively, while drunk.

What you need to do is build your sober self up. Not numb yourself. And improving yourself is easier than you think.

We're afraid of social interactions because we think there's some "correct" answer or thing to say. When really, simply showing up and paying attention to people and talking to them like people, is like 90% of what you need to do. Actually paying attention and talking to people like they're actually people and LISTENING To them, is more than most people are able to do.

So find other things to do. Social partner dancing is cheaper than going drinking and you often meet women and people in general, with better attitudes.

PUA is about learning and expanding your mind, changing your perception of reality, do you drink before a big test?

Your drunk self will never be the same as your sober self. If you want to develop skills that stick then you will need to start to approach sober. If you just want a better chance at getting laid then go ahead and approach drunk

You shouldn't get "drunk" per se, but one or two drinks will probably do more good than harm.

But man, you have to be able to approach sober. Why don't you make a rule that you have to do at least 1 decent approach before grabbing a drink? That's what I did when I was still uncomfortable approaching.

Few beers in with a buzz is perfect if you want optimal game. No more no less. Then again getting shitfaced with good friends can always be fun but don't expect to pull lol. Then again I've pulled some amazing women being way drunk but only because I was purely out to have a fun, took nothing seriously and the girls were equally drunk.
