Meditations - Marcus Aurelius

There's a lot of good stuff in there that is based in stoicism. It's just a collection of thoughts that the man had throughout his life on a whole slew of subjects such as life and death, dealing with obstacles, how to conduct yourself around others, how to live a good life, etc. I go back to it every now and then and read a few pages to get some insight into life.

How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie

You'll see this recommended pretty much everywhere on here. It's a great book that teaches you how to be a better person to others by treating them in a respectful manner which is how they ultimately want to be treated. There's a lot of things in there that are ridiculously easy to bring into your life but will have a massive pay off.

The Art of War - Sun Tzu

While this is in and of itself a book on warfare, it teaches you a lot about dealing with obstacles and conflicts in everyday life if you can take a step back and look at the principles that he is trying to impart. Would definitely recommend.

The Myth of Sisyphus - Albert Camus

A great book on absurdism and the meaning of life. Essentially says that there is no objective meaning to life while using the backdrop of Sisyphus pushing the boulder up the hill and that we have to make our own meaning of life, which is what Sisyphus determines his pushing the rock up the hill to be.

The Wealthy Barber Returns - David Chilton

For Canadians primarily, but its really just a book on how to save your money. Bottom line is essentially don't have a Fillet Mignon diet on a hamburger budget, but there are some good tips in there for investing and stuff as well.

There's probably a bunch of other books I could think of, but I need to get back to work. Hope this helps!

A great book on why everyone should be scientifically educated and how superstition and unexamined thoughts fuck everything up.

The Selfish Gene - Richard Dawkins
An amazing book that completely changed the way I think about life.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Stephen Covey
I didn't see this yet. It constantly comes up in self help recommendations for good reason. It's the first one you should read.

Your Brain at Work - David Rock
This book provides a breakdown of how your brain works throughout your day of work and home life in various situations and specific strategies to optimize.

Eat, Move, Sleep - Tom Rath
A bunch of short concise tips with research backing to improve your diet, physical activity, and sleeping habits. Very easy read and very useful easily implemented tips that ALL can improve your life.

Steve Jobs - Walter Isaacson
You don't have to be an apple fanboy to appreciate Steve's impact on our world. And he has a very unique force of personality that is a central theme of the book and especially interesting to anyone reading game.

Theodore Roosevelt's biography, his life story is quite inspiring. His brother, who nobody knows about, got all the girls. He was more handsome, he made better grades, he was more athletic and yet nobody knows about him. That's because he threw himself out of a window after having an affair, impregnating a 14 year old French maid and becoming a wild alcoholic. Teddy, on the other hand was a talented boxer, owned and operated his own ranch, an accomplished and ethical hunter, created conservation, is one of the greatest political minds to have ever lived AND he was once got shot before a speech, gave the speech and was quoted "It takes more than a bullet to kill a bull moose." What a badass. Oh yeah, have you ever gone to a federal park? Thank him for that, as well.

The Outsiders is one my favorite books of all time... I could identify with it a lot as a teenager. It's good to reflect on that, to note how far I have come. I recommend you try picking up something you read a long time ago, it might remind you who you once were and how much positive change you have brought to your life since then. It might also bring about some hard introspective thoughts that are healthy to deal with.

Ender's Game is a mind fuck. One of the few books I could read in high school that I could not put down, if you've seen the movie then I'm not sure the book will really blow you away but it still has a lot of humanity in it.

It's kind of a kid's book but Holes was also a favorite in grade school. Really great story.

Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief is a good book, pretty self explanatory. He's a ballsy, slick thief and has some good stories.

Honestly, the Bible. It's the most read book for the past thousand years. I'm not religious, but I think it's more fascinating when you look at it from afar like that. I mean, there is some seriously fucked up shit in there. Like, it literally tells you not to touch a woman on her period. Bizarre.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is kind of like How to Win Friends & Influence People, it's one of those books people sometimes read expecting to turn them into millionaires. It's just good general life lessons that we should all practice. There's a lot to be taken from those books, and becoming rich in monetary value isn't one of them. To me, it was more about being rich in friends and being successful in a lot of aspects outside of money.

48 Laws of Power is pretty interesting. The people at /r/books hated it which means you should probably read, that sub is full of insufferable know-it-all cunts. The book isn't intended to be taken as literally as the title would suggest, but it has fascinating historical content that supports these "laws."

That's about all I've read that would tickle seddits fancy.

Aldous Huxley - "Brave New World"

Both are really good reads. The second one especially for seduction. You'll be able to produce very interesting conversation with women and understand society from a sociological perspective.

Moonwalking with Einstein - About the method of loci. Great book for memorization.

Set your voice free - Improve your speaking and singing voice by breathing from the diaphragm, using middle voice and other techniques. Changes in voice alone can drastically change your life.

Hagakure - Basically a guide on how to be a samurai. Extremely relevant knowledge packed within to anyone who values discipline and excellence.

Influence (Robert Cialdini) - Will teach you the fundamentals of what drives and motivates people in interpersonal relationships. If you can internalize this knowledge you will find it useful in every aspect of life.

Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind - I would consider myself more of a taoist than a buddhist if anything. This book is about meditation however. There is a very important concept in here which many people who meditate do not know, which is that good practice means having no gaining ideas. You don't meditate to become more patient, or focused, or spiritual or anything like that. If you meditate to reach enlightenment, you will never attain enlightenment. The meditation only has meaning when you attach no gaining ideas to it.

Not a book but a movie. If you haven't seen Fight Club, every time I watch it I feel like I gain a different perspective on life. May be one of the deepest movies I've ever seen.
