I am opening Seddit University and am appointing myself temporary Dean of Students. I expect this to be a rotating volunteer position.

Our first assignment is theoretical. This assignment is suitable for all levels of students, from freshmen through Master Pickup Artists. There is no lecture or reading assignment, this is intended as an introduction and initial self-assessment. Here is your assignment.

  1. What is pickup and seduction? Explain briefly, in one short paragraph.

  2. Name one pickup system. Bonus points for linking to primary study materials associated with that system. Please read other students' answers and try not to duplicate.

Grading: Upvotes and downvotes on student's comments should only be given by our "at large faculty," composed of sedditors who have experience in both the theory of pickup, and using it in the field. You know who you are.

Please focus your comments on answering these questions, rather than responding to other students. It may be useful to restrict this thread solely to answers, and put discussion in another post. We shall see how this experiment goes.
