Haha, Columbus, GA / Ft. Benning Mil. Base area is definitely loaded. So many girls thinking they were going to marry their HS army sweetheart and then get dropped after they move here with them. It's kind of sad, but having lived there I can say that it's very true and working within that space is decidedly more fun. Though I can't say it's easier, it's not harder. Just different I guess.

I think this 2007 data already obsolete as I'm in SFO and there are so many damn single women, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

From what I understand, though, it's also because there isn't a lot of competition. Either way, that also goes against this data.

Doesn't this just show the difference in population between male and female since to "not be single" means a man and woman (for the most part) are together. So if you had a 50/50 split of male/female in a city, and you had 10,000 single males, you would therefore have 10,000 single females (again, roughly). So I'm having a hard time believing theres anything more to this map than a gender ratio.

What's the source? I've lived in Detroit and grew up in the city/metro-area, and the majority of women seem to be taken. This is anecdotal, but based on my circle of friends, experience of going out to the bar scene (which is really lame in metro-Detroit) and amount of ladies that use Tinder and other dating apps compared to other cities I've traveled. The last reason is not a great example, because I am comparing metro-Detroit to higher-populated areas such as Chicago, Atlanta and Boston. But I am very familiar with the bar/club scene and you really have to go to the right places.
