Don’t ask her a bunch of questions about her kid. My approach is not to ask questions about their kid until they bring the kid up, and even then I’m not asking questions unless they’re directly relevant to the topic at hand.

She’s a mom, obviously her kid is a big part of her life. She’s not looking for the 50th person to talk about her kid to, she’s looking for someone that cares about her.

So the questions end up being more oriented towards her. She mentions something her kid did, “how did you feel about that?”

Most of the single mums in their 20's are psychologically abused by their ex's for months or even years because they are forced to meet with their ex's because of the kid and even when they do not want to so most think they are useless and ugly etc. (which is sad actually)
Provider for her and her kid. Those women tend to live tight on money so when you show up in a nice car and take her to a nice dinner she will be happy. But this is dangerous if you are not seeking a relationship. She could easily fall in love that way. Depends on the lifestyle you will show her.

Don't ask about the kid if you are not interested in that don't send mixed signals she will understand the dinamic by your concerns if she insists in a certain topic she it trading to impose a frame that okay to know her intentions based on those important topic to her you can understand her interest and negociante a common dinamic maybe she just want company for a while if you show real interest for her obviously you will star to get afección for her whole self that includes her son this is the point when the dinamic is changing because involving more without establish boundaries is not smart.
