Got out of a LTR about 6 weeks ago. Met some girl in a different department at work we hit it off pretty well about 2 months ago, yesterday I saw her again and we we laughing and chatting and it went well. I texted her a few hours afterword and asked her on a date. She first questioned if I was still in a relationship (bc I was when we met) and then respectfully declined bc she said she was talking to someone. Might be true, might just not be interested...

Either way, I gave it a shot, got denied, and feel great. Now I don’t have to waste any time or effort on anything with her. She knows I’m self confident, I know what I want, and not afraid to go for it. I have a feeling this won’t be the end of it with her but I have zero stress about the situation.

TLDR: just go for it. Getting denied won’t kill you, only make you stronger and will actually help you boost your confidence in someways

Edit: Also I want to add more context for those who were saying I should have done this in person. ( I agree 100%) Were both nurses. She works a few floors below me. The in person convo happened at the nurses station on her unit and I was talking to her and her friend so I couldn’t ask her in person unfortunately. I knew she was at work so i went to her unit during our shift to pick up some equipment in order to run into her
