This is a great question. A lot of PUAs would probably think it irrelevant to their game, but a moral code affects how our community holds itself together and what we take away from all our sarging. Even if I'm distracting myself with HBs 7 nights a week, my pick-up artistry still needs a foundation built on all the ordinary hours of the day; so the everyday way we choose to live is pretty damn important no matter how you try to isolate a particular activity.

I'll even argue that the most fundamental factor in your personal well-being is the way you treat others. If you take a naturalist perspective, it's hard-wired into our brains to act out of empathetic compassion. Thanks to mirror neurons and dopamine, we are more happy the more awesome we are towards each other -- and treating others poorly brings its own punishment via self-alienation. No karmic reincarnation required. (Remember: those who live alone outside the city gates are either gods, or beasts.)

These scientific facts run counter to a whole slew of inner-game techniques. Whereas we're more contented overall when we contribute to the happiness of others, that doesn't coordinate neatly with the narcissism/outcome-independence/non-reactivity so necessary for PUAs. It's kinda hard to treat people with sincere compassion when Julien from RSD just told me it's better to kick her out at 5AM so she's left wanting future validation. There seems to (sometimes) be a conflict between what produces happiness for the group (and myself) in general, and what's useful for myself with a particular HB. I'm reminded of what TofuTofu once said about the PUA Ciaran, and how he got burnt out from so much meaningless sex.

But wait a second, maybe a little self-centeredness now will actually contribute to happiness in general. What if we need a little PUA douchebaggery now in order to overcome our anti-sexual social conditioning? What if, one day, our artistry produces enough collective momentum that humanity returns to its free-fucking bonobo heritage, and we won't need to learn any more pick-up skills in order to not just get our dicks wet, but also to get emotional satisfaction from complete strangers? What if "happiness" is produced from a messy stew of competing desires, requiring certain sacrifices for other gains?

1) Don't pursue anyone from your own line of work. It may seem like a silly rule to some, but the fact is you can avoid a lot of potential pitfalls (these won't always come up, but there's a chance). Firstly, there wouldn't be a lot to talk about, seeing as how you're together, even at work, and even with EV; new topics of discussion could run out faster (you both know your field, which kinda takes away from the wonder and mystery of your image that the other could have had about you). Plus, dating someone in the same field can foster feelings of inadequacy and even an inability to perform if one outperforms the other at work (especially if the girl outdoes the guy, those feelings can spill over into the relationship if not discussed), or it can go the other way and cause major aggressive competition (it could escalate into arguments where one uses it against the other verbally). Also, should the relationship end, that's a lot of awkwardness to have to deal with after, seeing as how you both somehow still have to work together. TL;DR - Don't dip your pen in the company ink. Go outside the box, try someone outside your personal domain. Variety is the spice of life.

2) The odds are against you: you're probably gonna fail....a lot. Yeah, there are some people (possibly you, you can get lucky) who find their perfect mate early on; but reality dictates different for everyone else. You're going to make mistakes, something that'll cause an IOD or LMR, but it's important that you learn from them. Like a lot of things in life, you have to go through a lot of crap to find that one diamond in the rough that makes it all worthwhile. The main purpose of accepting this is to more easily get over your AA. The trick is to maintain a balance of being convinced there's a chance it won't work (makes the failure easier to deal with, plus it's a nice surprise for when it does work out) with the confidence to try it out anyway (hey, you never know, that's why you're doing it, right? ;) ). Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. If nothing else, you'll learn from your mistakes. TL;DR - It's okay to make mistakes, you learn from them. Don't be afraid of making them.

3) You have to keep at it. You have to keep going out there. You have to persist and continue your quest. Don't let any mistake or failure stop you. You have to fight that negativity, don't let it get the best of you...

Gonna be contraversial here on Seddit. Let me preface this by saying that I am more than satisfied with my sex life, but I don't expect everyone who takes this into account or lives by this to be as successful in their love life as I have been. I consider myself very fortunate in that regard. I personally, don't really think most women are better of for having romance in their lives, and, at least, think most of them substitute romance/sex for a large host of things. If we taught philosophy, meditation, and about relationships earlier on, I bet most women would be ready to put things into perspective better. So I personally don't even start flirting with a girl unless i have a strong sense that she will be better off for all that stuff that flirting potentially leads. I usually dont feel confident about a girls such ability for months, as Im not asking direct questions. Usually though, I quickly feel confident that she ISNT really ready. There is so much going on in life, plus, Im successful enough in my own love life, that it doesnt feel like Im missing anything; I understand of course this wont be the case with everybody.

This has nothing to do with seduction and is just going to create heated arguments. People don't have a moral code, that have a morality, and don't generally appreciate people who live and believe differently than they do, which is why this thread is unwise.
